We were second in line behind a group a four or five and waited for them to order and it waited a bit longer after they were done and ultimately ended up standing in front of the register waiting to order for at least 10 minutes and finally just walked out without being served. All we wanted were a couple milkshakes but I guess that's a little too much to ask at 10:00 at night. It looks like there was three people on staff and they were three tables people that were seated in the restaurant one of which had their food and another had just ordered. We went elsewhere
Much of the charm of this restaurant seems to have disappeared during the Covid pandemic and it is looking like it is never returning. Now you order at the counter and then go to a table while you await your food. You rarely see employees in the dining room except when they are bringing trays to tables. As a result, it seems as if the dining room is not as clean as it once was. However, the food is still as good as it ever was as long as you don't want the chicken tenders they no longer serve.
My family and just left the steak and shake in Knoxville's Turkey Creek. It was a horrible experience, you have to order at the register pick up your own food and drinks and take them to your table. Our order was incorrect and we got attitude when we ask them to correct it. We have eaten here everytime we come to knoxville for many and never had any issue. But never have we had to pick our orders out of a papper bag in the dinning area. Really come on, at least put the food on trays. The food was rush cooked more than ever. Almost no staff on hand, i guess the empty dinning area should of been a clue to turn around at the door. If this is the way steak and shake is going to do business then they have lost our family business for good and I do for see them loosing others as well.I will give half a star but I don't see that option.
Good steak burger, cheese fries were awesome, chili is out of this world!! It’s a burger joint and has your typical foods. The chili though is a family favorite. We always order it as an extra side. They have recently changed their menu which I’m not sure if that is due to covid limiting supplies or they changed it just because. I was sad to see some items removed. They are consistent with the food, which is always nice!
There new method of service is lazy and just so they don’t have hire more staff. The whole point of restaurant, it’s now just a fast food restaurant. The food was not that great. Not worth the price. The one in Powell never has workers. Pay your staff and maybe you will have employees.
Used to love this place, but this location is struggling. The dining room is still closed, the prices have gone up, and the portions have gotten smaller. Not worth the money anymore to get a smaller burger than at McDonald's that costs more.
My first visit at steak and shake and it was a terrible horrible experience. I went through the drive-thru around 11:40am Feb 1st n the Lady was so rude kept interrupting me and not letting me finish my sentence let alone my order. I proceeded to give my order and I wanted to make sure she got my order and when I repeated myself she said you already told me that in an abrupt way. I get to the window and the lady snatches my card closes the window and then gives me my food 10 minutes later. I asked the lady for ketchup and she gave me one pack and then told me that she put some in the bag I asked if I could have extra and then she gave me more with an attitude. At this point I asked for the manager — she said I am the manager —and no one is above me —but the owner— laughed and slammed the window with a smirk on her face. I’ve never in all my life seen Such Unprofessional behavior and have others watching this as an example is sad. This is bad for the business all together. I personally Want ever be back n glad it was a very - cheep meal. SmhLast, my order was incorrect because the lady could not listen with poor management and very unprofessional behavior. She should not work around food or people … period … and clearly hates her job.
They always have an attitude nowadays. Lady at the drive through said they couldn't put chocolate syrup on the shakes, even though that's what's shown on the menu??? They don't have garlic fries anymore either. Went to backyard burger instead.
The staff was kind and efficient, and the environment was clean. The burgers were incredibly thin, and greasy-but edible.I feel like this particular location was understaffed and overworked.
1/2 menu was taken out. Was told they no longer serve Mac and cheese or real ice cream. Steak burgers didn't taste like steak burgers...they were off. Had to order before we sat down and get our own condiments. Not the steak and shake I remember before they closed for pandemic. The only thing consistent and good was the fries. And...they had no fry seasoning anymore. On a better note..staff was friendly and nice.
