Horrible service. I showed up 15 min before opening and the seating for the restaurant is unclear as many businesses are in the same place.l, and we were at a picnic table not immediately in front of their shop. I agreed to purchase food from them to be able to use the table. I went in to order and the service was EXTREMELY rude to the point I cancelled my order. I was then cussed at and told they didn’t want to serve me anyway. Every other table was open and they had NO other customers. This treatment was from the manager on duty.
Great atmosphere! We went during a busy time and were nervous about whether they’d have a table but the hostess was very friendly and accommodating. She ended up being able to seat us right away and was so sweet. I had the brunch burger and their Bloody Mary, both were amazing and the place was so cute! First time visiting but won’t be our last!
Management is unprofessional and very rude. He cussed my friend out for nothing. We are new to Knoxville and it’s a shame we will never be customers to this business. Went to the patio with friends for our friend’s birthday and during our evening many of us would have made orders but instead here is what happened… 15 min before they opened we sat down at one of their tables by the field as we had children that wanted to play. An employee came and told us to move without asking us if we planned to order, they already assumed we weren’t. Good management would’ve asked politely or informed us we needed to order to sit there, but they came at us aggressively. When they opened my friend went to order and expressed disappointment at how we were treated and the manager cussed at her which is unacceptable and so unprofessional and inappropriate. If you are truly this concerned about your patio, please rope off your area and put very clear signs (not small rocks with small writing that no one can see) or just get used to crossover business or don’t put your business on a shared patio where many businesses are happy to send each other business, you don’t seem to fit with the vibe the other businesses and people in the area are hoping to find. Your food looks like it would’ve been good to check out but I will not be giving you my business. If you plan to own a business consider being professional, maybe consider educating yourself on customer service. Many of our friends that met up with us are locals to the neighborhoods around the business and are disappointed that they will be taking their business elsewhere to support the many other wonderful options Knoxville has to offer.
We were visiting from Washington state and stopped in to Simpl for dinner after a day at Dollywood. Such incredible service and the food was delicious! The Shrimp and grits was some of the best I've ever had and the fries were so good we ordered a side at the end of our meal and ate all of them even though we were full. Highly recommend!
Went into the restaurant earlier this week and had the most phenomenal service, I simply ~had~ to write a review. Apparently, the person helping me was also the manager and they had the warmest disposition. Also, one of the best meals and cocktails I’ve had in the area. If I could give them 6 stars out of 5, I would. Above and beyond across the board. Everyone is so hardworking, so please remember to be kind and tip your servers 20% when you go here. It’s beyond worth it.
This place rocks. Friendliest staff, my server Jordan was super attentive and he made me one of the best Palomas I have ever had. First time here I got hooked on the loaded fries and came back the very next day for more. I enjoyed the patio and the entire ambience of Simpl. Would 10/10 recommend to a friend or anyone traveling through Southern Knoxville.
We sat down at a picnic table that was not in front of the restaurant (15 minutes before they opened mind you) only to have a waitress come out and tell us we needed to move. We told her we had no idea this table belonged to Simpl and that we would be happy to purchase something once they opened. The manager came out several minutes before opening and slammed a QR code in front of me and my friend passive aggressively asking if “we had a chance to look at the menu”. Of course we hadn’t, they weren’t even opened yet. A small painted rock in the middle of the table that looks like a decoration does not clearly communicate that this is designated seating. Get an actual sign if you care so much. A few minutes later my wife went in to order something, while also expressing that we had been treated poorly, only for the manager to say “f**k you I didn’t want to serve you anyway” and then flipping her off… Simpl has lost our business forever. P.S. I find it interesting that several other positive reviews have been posted tonight BY EMPLOYEES OF THE RESTAURANT in light of my wife and friends negative reviews this evening. Seems suspicious to me.
The cocktails are perfectly balanced, the vibe is chill af, and the menu is curated masterfully by Chef Kendale . Simpl is a star of the South Knox Waterfront District, so much that it signals a breadth of diversity and flavor coming to the community. Everything I have ever had here has been superb.
We’ve always loved Simpl. For the food, the atmosphere, the people. It’s an incredible place. And we have loved it and believed in it so much, that we decided to have our wedding reception there! They did an amazing job. They served our intimate wedding (approx. 56 people), decorated for us, and danced with us. We had an amazing time, and it was a perfect day & night for our wedding!!!
What a great spot and awesome food!
