The staff was very friendly and very helpful. They recommended the burger because of my first time being there, the toppings in the seasoning tasted good on the burger but the patty was very bland and everything fell apart when I was eating it. It was a pre-made frozen burger patty with pickled jalapen os which just happened to be not one of my favorites. The fries were cold soggy and tasted old.
The burgers were large. But I am fairly certain they are precooking the burgers in bulk then holding them in a warm watery brine until ordered. Then melt some cheese on it... I mean tge burger was ready before I was able to fill my cup at tge drink station, which is a bad sign. Then when I started eating it (I got the feeling it was a frozen angus patty they buy in bulk) it was like chewing on a tire, only minysnthe flavor. Literally there wasn't any flavor. For $16 I expect at least as much flavor as Burger King. Two bites in and I was wishing there was a Five Guys Burgers I could run to and ask them to teach them how to make a decent burger. I even contemplated slapping the patty on the floor and trying to score a goal on the table across the dining room it was so rubbery. I admit that I was fooled by the sign out front that reads "Knoxville's favorite burger"... I don't know who took that vote, but it demand a recount. If you really want a good burger for about the same price you can go to Outback Steakhouse or Cheesecake Factory, it will be a whole lot better and just as filling, and a waaay better value. The only redeeming quality was the staff wasn't rude, I mean they weren't exceptionally friendly or helpful, but they weren't rude either, merely apathetic.
Dare I say, the superior Sam and Andy’s? I had a steamed Turkey and Swiss. As usual, service was beyond expectations, the ding room attendant was engaged, speaking with obvious regulars and checking on everyone.Great local, great food, great service.
Sam & Andy's used to have a great burger. I went there for lunch today and was so disappointed. I ordered a Vol burger with mustard and lettuce and fries. There was a guy with a silly man bun on the phone at the counter. He never acknowledged me and when he hung up the phone, he turned around and walked away. An employee who was in the dining room came and took my order. I got back to work and opened the container,. The top bun was stuck halfway on/off the burger. There was one slimy lettuce leaf on the bottom bun which was smeared with mayo. The fries were soggy and several had melted into the cheese on the burger when it was nuked. I know the price of beef has skyrocketed, but the order was almost $16 including weak tea. I will think twice before going back.
we each had SEC burger, fries and drink. make sure you are hungry cuz it was a huge burger! very tasty. had a juicy, thick, red tomato slice on it. boat load of fries. i would def. recommend this place.
I will start with something positive the fries were excellent they were loaded all the way through. The burger however felt like I was eating a pile of compost or vomit. When the manager came to ask about the food I was honest and told him I was not looking for compensation just the meat held a lot of water and fell apart before I could get a couple of bites and actually made me lose my appetite. He handled it with absolute poor customer service and hospitality with a disgusting look on his face and walked away without even apologizing very poor customer service not friendly at all. I tried to be as polite as possible and honest so that they can fix the issue.Anyhow the plate in the picture is the burger after a couple of bites it has completely fallen apart and I needed a fork to finish it which I could barely finish.
I had the philly steak, which wasn't as good as it usually is. My fries looked like they had been put back in the fryer, and were cold and rock hard. I was the only patron there, and 3 employees, and I counted at least 10 dirty tables with dishes still on them.
Poor customer service.Spaghetti = canned spaghetti ?.The sauce was orange… not kidding like actual orange…The salad came with lettuce and half of a tomato …Nothing else on it..I’ve ate here a few times and kept giving it a chance because I’ve worked in the industry along time but there has never been a good meal from there..i would have given one star but the guy who brought my food out was very nice and helpful. Will not be going back.
Was craving a good hamburger, so we got the Vol burger. Price was higher than what showed on the menu. Hamburger had absolutely nothing on it, no lettuce, no tomato nothing.. hate that!
The prices are not as advertised. On the menu it said $8.50 for a Cajun Chicken burger but it came out $10. The menu is old and has not been changed. A waitress said she didn't think that the website has been updated. The fries were good. Not too crispy not too raw. I couldn't finish the chicken burger as the meat was too dry. The bun was stale and falling apart. When I mentioned it, they said they usually grill it but they didn't they didn't for this one. I did get a free German cake because of it. But the cake was a tad too dry and almost tasteless. At one point I thought the frosting was watery because it it was too sweet. They said that this was the oldest restaurant in Knoxville which is why we came here.
