Originally from WV, currently live in knoxville (2 years). Five years later, this is still my favorite place. Tyelo and Kyle are the best!
Unique name with YUM YUM food. Everyone in our party loved their food. The staff was extremely friendly and very tentative. Not only was presentation great, but the taste was WOW. One of the best chicken sandwiches EVER! Great decor inside. Was able to get a table right away. The place is WAY bigger than it looks. Will definitely stop in here again on my way through Knoxville.
The chicken and waffles here are incredible. I also really enjoy the salmon fillet. I usually eat here twice when I’m in town for 1 day.
There was a 1:30+ minute wait on Saturday night, but the bar was open seating. Within 15 minutes of putting our names in, two spots at the bar opened. The restaurant is not big and was packed all night. We ordered the Fried Green Tomatoes. The fried tomatoes were topped with a small amount of pimento cheese, tomato jam and country ham slivers. The tomato jam was a little odd for our tastes, but the rest was done well. I had the "Make My Burger a Salad" with the Pretty Hot Burger on the bartender's recommendation. It was good, but it was basically just a salad with a burger on top. My wife had the Sir Watson's Fish and Chips and she enjoyed it. The fish portions were smaller than we expected, and the fries came out somewhat lukewarm as if they had been living under a heat lamp for a while. They gave her a fresh order which was much better. The fries are the type which are cooked to dark brown, which many people love, but always taste burned to me. My wife also had the Wilma's Carrot Cake which the bartender recommended. She said it was good, but just average. Overall, we enjoyed our visit. The service was good... but, when we return to Knoxville, we will probably try other restaurants.
This was the first place we ate on this trip to America. The service was excellent and the decor was interesting. My tacos were described as Crispy Belly Pork with avocado and some dressing or other. They tasted fine but the crispy belly pork was more crispy belly fat than pork. Still, it was tasty and an exciting start to an American adventure.
Wonderful friendly staff. Ezekiel, our server, was attentive. We were one of their last customers on a Monday night (Memorial Day). My husband left his wallet on the table outside and realized the next morning he didn't have it. Ezekiel must have found it and turned it in. The next morning, we went back before the place opened and as soon as we walked in, the manager Bo said, "We have your wallet." Everything was there including $300 in cash and all cards. The manager told us he was lucky to have such honest people on his staff. Our Knoxville experience reinforced our belief in the goodness of people.
Went pre-Paul McCartney concert and got there just a little before the big crowd pushed in. While the service was slow, it was pleasant. Food was good. Had the pork belly tacos that were just the right amount of crispy. My wife had the salmon and enjoyed it, too. There is outside seating available, but it was too hot for that to be a consideration. This place is definitely worth a try.
Our only regret about this nifty eatery is that, as tourists, we won't get a chance to check out more of the menu! We sat at a comfy table surrounded by all sorts of nice memorabilia. Promptly served by the always smiling Kaitlyn, I had the Chicken & Biscuits while my wife had Philly Steak and Egg sub with tater tots. We ordered a side of the crispy Brussel sprouts which were so good, we had a second helping! So many times places soak their sprouts in a sauce that drowns out the flavor; that is not the case here! A place like this is the result of experience and hard work, and we can only complement those responsible and wish them continued success... Well Done!!!
We did not care for Not Watson’s. We were expecting much better food by reviews and recommendation’s by coworker’s. Both our entrees were burnt. The meatloaf had a good flavor. The asparagus not bad but also not very good. I would not recommend the chili Mac burger it was just a no. We ordered the pear cider, not a fan. Definitely suggest keeping it simple with a traditional apple cider. Server was not attentive during our meal. Restaurant was not busy at the time either.
The food was perfectly prepared and tasted fresh. We ordered strawberry pecan salad with grilled chicken and salmon with mashed potatoes and asparagus. Lemon drop martini was also very good. Staff was friendly and attentive. They offer indoor and outdoor seating. I will definitely visit again.
