Excellent location. Within walking distance of downtown. Eclectic cool alley way for outdoor dining. Food and drink selection was solid! Priced on the higher end of the soectrum. Dishes ended up being just ok and missing the mark. With some fine tuning this place could be spot on. Overall worth visiting and hanging outside with a nice drink and appetizer.
Good food - but very different to the norm. The pork used is more of a sausage than pork you would find in a standard Asian experience. Also - main dishes are ALL rice or noodles - no chicken or beef etc dishes ! So, if you like carbs, go for it . Not sure about the Gyoza has pork sausage - unsure …. Even the spring rolls had a pork sausage meat .. So - very tasty - but only for adult palettes….
all around a winner! excellent food, great service, it’s darling inside, and reasonably priced. I got the Thai chicken noodles, 2 orders of gyoza (they were that good!!!) and the bang bang shrimp bun. Everything was excellent!
This has been our favorite mid-range priced restaurant in Knoxville for quite some time. Now located at 127 S. Central St, the location is a little larger than before with some great outdoor seating. We were seated in what had been an adjoining alley which is now a great space with spaced seating allowing for a more intimate setting. We shared a couple of Thai sausage buns, the gyoza, and pork belly fried rice. Just delicious! Just a little heat from the sweet chili sauce really complimented the servings. We also had a bottle of the Redentore Chardonnay, which was unoaked and tasted more like a sauvignon blanc but was perfect with the food served. Server (AM S) was pleasant and knowledgeable. As usual, a delightful experience.
Amazing! I got the shoju noodles (as I love everything mushroom related). I loved it! I do want to note that my partner and I arrived 45 minutes before closing time, and we were welcomed in with a smile. (Another group of people arrived 15 minutes after us and were also welcomed.) I would definitely recommend this place.
Just moved here - so happy I found this place to open my horizons to delicious and different food! Great wait staff - incredible food. Would highly recommend to anyone in the area to try this place!
One of my favorite restaurants here in Knoxville, my partner and I recently got the bang bang shrimp and pork belly fried rice, plus two of the buns. The food was exceptional, and pickup was quick and easy. Everything was so fresh and flavorful!
Thus was the closest I could eat to celebrate the lunar new year since there was no dim sum place in Knoxville. I ordered all 7 steamed buns and dumplings. They were so good. I ordered one more dumplings and was done. I was in food comma. The service was good and staff was friendly and professional. Ill be back again.
Always a great experience. The food is great. Emily is fantastic. The buns are addictive. My favorite is the eggplant. The hubs likes the hot mustard miso chicken. Haven't had anything yet that wasn't straight delicious.
First off - the service, presentation, and alcohol selection are a solid 5/5. I think my expectations for the food were a little too high, based on the assumption that the higher prices would be indicative of exceptional food. The meat in my curry was chewy and the noodles were mushy and overcooked. The dumplings struck me as being excessively doughy. I may come back at some point and try some different menu items to get a better sampling of what the restaurant has to offer. Their imported whisky selection alone would be worth stopping in for.
