Had Knox Hot Chicken, cooked perfectly, got cabbage and green beans as sides and it was probably best cooked cabbage I've ever eaten. Little hot, little savory and a little sweet--had to drink the juice from the bowl. Chicken was cooked perfectly too! It was soooo good. It's off the usual beaten path at the bottom of Fulton H.S. Jackie herself was our waitress and she was great, she told us at the outset to let her know if the food was great, good or bad because she couldn't fix it if she didn't know about it. No need to worry, Jackie, it was spot on!
Was looking for someplace new to try. I saw fried okra and got excited, my husband loves it and I don't so I don't make it. He also got catfish (another favorite of his) along with the fried okra. I had the chicken tenders. Everything was so good!! It's obvious they take good care of the fryers here. You don't taste anything in your food except what you're supposed to. The guy at the table next to us asked about desserts and they mentioned a neapolitan cake. Said it was like cake and ice cream. He got it and I asked how it was, he said it was very good - the cake tastes like neapolitan ice cream and the butter cream frosting was not overly sweet. I had to get a piece and it was phenomenal!! I highly recommend this place! I carry a bottle of kool-aid with me because no one ever has it. But Jackie's Dream has several pitchers - I couldn't believe it!
First time in Knoxville and we wanted some soul food. This place did not disappoint. Collard greens were seasoned to perfection, the chicken was seasoned from the skin down to the bone, the Mac & cheese reminded me of my granny’s, my husband loved his catfish. Hospitality was good as well. We will be back! Showing love all the way from Cincinnati,Oh.
Customer service was good given the volume of customers. The Nash hot chicken is great. I got the catfish and it was cooked amazin. I would say the yams need work or less nutmeg, peach cobbler was in same boat but maybe not peach season needed more crust to peach ratio. Gotta love the atmosphere. Mac n cheese was good. Will return when back in area. Keep cooking it up.

This review is from the point of view of a traveler from a distant land who stopped in while passing through: I would give Jackie's Dream five stars for the authentic local atmosphere alone. The food hit the spot as well. Very tasty fried chicken, ribs, baked beans, collard greens and potato salad. The fried tilapia was okay but not at the same level as the rest, the same holds for the slaw, and the mashed potatoes.Beware the lemonade, it's syrupy sweet (which is probably the local style).
Ms Jackie is such a lovely lady ?. Outstanding fried chicken & sides.(& dessert). Cannot wait to go back. So many other menu items that need to be tried. Perfect service by Miss Heaven as well. Thank you!

Wish I could give it more than 5 stars. The food was delicious, owner was super friendly and the staff was amazing. We had the Knox hot chicken and it was so juicy, tender and flavorful. It had a great crunch and was perfectly cooked! We got the meatloaf for the girls and ate half ourselves because it was so delicious! And with restaurants struggling so much, it was awesome to see a place fully staffed with FANTASTIC STAFF!!! They were genuinely friendly and quick to interact with customers. Hands down best customer service we've had in years. We will stop here everytime we pass through!
I have only had the fried chicken, hot chicken and a few sides here. In my opinion, this is the best fried chicken I've ever had. The meat is so flavorful and the breading is perfectly fried. The hot chicken is excellent but just a little too hot for me to have more than one piece. It's great if you love spicy. I've liked the sides I've gotten, particularly the slaw, potato salad, yams and fried okra. The seasoning is perfectly balanced with the chicken. The service and atmosphere is warm and welcoming.
