Clean, comfortable, attentive staff and an excellent chef!! Just had dinner here after a few years. They've hired a new chef and WOW!! The food is Chinese now and it's really excellent. The menu has changed so it has a lot of chinese options. I was a little worried since I was used to the japanese menu but, some of the favorites are still available like the bento box, which is actually improved in my opinion. There's a bit more too it now. The fried food is so fresh and crispy, the presentation is clean and appetizing and the flavors are great.We were the only diners at the restaurant on a weekday evening and my only thought about that is that it's a hidden gem, located in rocky hill, I'm wondering if it's just sort of missed. We weren't too disappointed with the quiet dining experience, especially with the calming atmosphere but, y'all come eat here so they can stay in business. This is so good!! Support this local business!!
Sorry to say this, and I hope this restaurant will pay attention to the comments on reviews.The vegetables in our dishes seemed to be fresh enough- however, there was absolutely no flavor in the food other than too salty and too sweet.We would really like to see this restaurant success, but you cannot call imitation scallops the real thing on the menu and expect no one to notice. Soup should be more than a faintly salty flavorless watered down broth. This restaurant needs a real chef in the kitchen!
Maybe we went on a bad day, but I wasn't impressed with this place. They were clean and staff was nice, but the food was mediocre at best. My husband's orange chicken was so dry he could barely eat it. My chicken dish had a funny taste to it. The sweet tea was awful. I would eat here again, but definitely will order something different.

I ordered this from DoorDash and thought I was getting our normal Ichiban hibachi grill… we got our food and it was disgusting!! It was extremelySalty, the rice smelled weird, and the sauce was like soup In our peppered steak! It is a weak substitute for our normal Ichiban! Chinese food is usually a 50-50 shot if it’s good or not! This place is NOT!
I ordered the steak bento box, and my friend ordered the chicken. Affordable! I love th salad and the soup before the meal came. Simple ingredients with lots of flavor.
Based on my first time getting food from here, I will definitely be back, and soon! The food quality is excellent. They obviously use quality ingredients here, and definitely pay attention to the details with their recipes and preparation. I will probably boost this review to five stars after I have further "sampled" the menu. Also, even though I got food to go, I was impressed by the ambiance of the dining room, something that I don't usually pay too much attention to. This would be a nice place to go on a date or for a family outing.
Honestly, based on reviews and photos I took my daughter here for her birthday. While nice on the inside I believe this is more of a take out restaurant. The floors were sticky. We walked in and no one greeted us. We then proceeded to walk to the back where a worker told us to "sit wherever and we don't have sushi ok?"We left.
I was craving ramen, so decided to try Ichiban. We ordered tonkatsu ramen, chicken/steak hibachi, pork egg rolls, and the sampler appetizer. Everything was delicious!! The hibachi was especially good. The ramen is slightly spicy, but very tasty. I would definitely eat there again!
I'm kind of lost at the prior reviews. Just placed my first order, 4 different dishes for a total of $50. None of the dishes had any flavor. It was the oddest thing. There were sauces on the dishes, but there was zero flavor. It was like eating steamed vegetables and meat with absolutely nothing on it. I could see oil, I could see the sauce, I could see the seasonings in the dishes, but they all tasted exactly the same. $50 in the trash. Very sad.
