Would rate a zero if at all possible. Save the trouble and do not eat here. Found mold in the Parmesan shaker after we had already been eating it. We told our waiter and he didn’t even remove them from the tables or show the manager. We get up front and speak to the manager to let him know and he did not believe us and we told him to ask your waiter because he seen it and he said well I’m not sure how that happened still not believing it. Really makes me wonder what the back of their kitchen looks like and the ingredients they are using to feed their customers. If the staff and management does not care what is happening then they just need to shut down or be shut down. The managers solution was well how about a small discount we told him it was not about trying to get free food but for them to know they can make people sick and when we told him we would not be back he charged full price anyway.
We are familiar with the Gondolier in Greeneville, TN so we tried the Knoxville one. The food was very good. We tried pizza, calzone, and fried chicken salad. It was all good and the service was great. Oh, and we had a baklava/carrot cake/cheesecake for dessert. Who cares that I gained 2 pounds, it was wonderful. We plan to add Gondolier to our regular list of restaurants.
This was my 1st time going to one of my friends favorite Italian restaurants. I can completely understand why he would love this place.... the food.I will start with that 1st. As a person that doesn't like to eat out much, I was pleased with my meal choice: EGGPLANT PARMIGIANA. It's was cooked to PERFECTION. The eggplant's batter was crispy with every bite of sauce and mozzarella. My friend had the veal. It was so tender and crispy just like my eggplant. The Cesar Salads were a complementary side along with the homemade bread sticks. (BTW ... I found them way better than Olive Garden because of the freshness)The portions were huge.... I had to take home a doggie bag. (Pictured)I prefer to eat at home for cleanliness sake. This is the reason why I rated a 3/5⭐ The menus had spattered marinara sauce on them. The booth that we set in had bread crumbs on the seats. Even the bathroom was There was a step ladder in front of the sink. I definitely didn't feel like I was in a sanitized environment. But I will end with this....The restaurant felt more like being at someone's grandma's house. If that is the feel you enjoy while dining out, then this is your place
I ordered the Spinach Pie dish with 2 chicken breasts that's usually very good. But, when I got home ready to eat is when I discovered the spinach pie had been over & under cooked. The top pastry was dark brown almost burnt, falling off, as I attempted to cut into it while the rest was under cooked and hard to cut. The inside spinach & cheese was dry, but tasty. The chicken breasts was well seasoned, but 1&1/2 chicken breasts, not 2. I couldn't call until the next day as they were already closed. The manager apologized and assured me he would make sure it was done right for me. However, again when I arrived home, ready to eat, I discovered the spinach pie under cooked, the spinach filling tasteless, and the 1 (not 2) chicken breast un-seasoned and tasteless! I was shocked and so disappointed. This dish is so good when prepared and cooked properly! I didn't bother to call to complain this second time. I'm not sure if I'll ever go back there again.
I’m giving this three stars because our server was friendly and attentive. The food - not so great. I had the chicken picatta. The chicken was grilled with Greek seasoning. There was no lemon in the sauce whatsoever and they added canned mushrooms. The sauce was some kind of chicken gravy. It did not taste good. My husband has the spaghetti with meat sauce and a gyro. The meat sauce was blah and clearly not homemade. The gyro meat was cut into large chunks. I had a salad with my pasta - the honey mustard dressing was delicious. The cherry cheesecake in the dessert case looked fabulous too. I’m glad we tried a new place but I won’t be eating there again.
Went inside to order takeout. Person at register greeted us and he recommended the 24.99 family deal that comes with 2 Large 3 topping pizzas, salad and breadsticks, so we ordered that. Service was fast as the food was ready in 15 mins. However, we tried paying with a visa gift card, and they were unable to process it. And when we got home and opened the food, we saw that they forgot our breadsticks. These were the only 2 issues, as the food was spectacular and the entire family enjoyed! For sure coming back here as long as we get our breadsticks!
Food is good no matter what you order, and the staff is courteous and polite, I like the gyro wish I had a picture to show you but it's all gone ? , But here's a picture of the of their Easy Greek Pizza that to would be gone too if I hadn't came up for air to snap this pic ?
Brought the family here after haircuts next door. The food was incredible, the service was phenomenal. Came back a week later just to buy a dessert again.
Very good local place. Nothing is over the top, consider this an Italian local diner with some Greek specialties. The food is good, fresh and hot. The staff is very friendly. Their dessert portions are absolutely monstrous and very tasty.I'd recommend the Chicken Souvlaki dinner as it's incredible. We live across the street and will, and have been coming here since we moved almost 2 months ago.
Good food and great desserts but service is hit and miss. Can be very crowded during peak dinner hours. Often have staffing issues. I'd say 50% of the times we go there we don't wind up actually eating there for one reason or another.
