Been loving this place for 30+ years (since LaPaz days). Snakebite chili with a house salad and pesto vinaigrette is my go-to. Margaritas are fabulous. And staff is on top of your needs. This is a true gem!

The Keagan Santa Fe is my favorite dish it's enchiladas with black beans queso and a fried egg on top it is we bomb!!! Best chips in salsa in town with a hot red salsa and a cool green salsa..

Pros:. Staff members are nice, convenient location, food is priced slightly high, but on par with most mid range local restaurants. Expect to pay about $20 per person not including drinks.Cons:. Not really what I think of as Mexican food... Not even Tex Mex. They use too much chili powder in their seasoning and it leaves a bitter, unpleasant after taste. The chips tasted a little burnt too. If you have food allergies, ask them before you order anything. I ordered Condoleeza Rice. Menu description says chicken, rice, peppers, onion and queso. It had chopped up mushrooms that weren't listed on menu description. It's very dimly lit inside so I ate some of the mushroom and started having an allergic reaction. I stopped a waitress passing by and she confirmed that there are mushrooms not listed in description. She took it away and had them remake it without mushrooms even though she wasn't my waitress, which was very nice of her. Unfortunately,I will have blisters in my throat and mouth for the next few days. Mushrooms are a very common allergin and a lot of people have violent reactions to them. I can't believe that a restaurant would put them in food without listing it in description. Another con is that they have a lot of tables in a small area. All the tables were full tonight which means that there's no chance for social distancing. None of the staff wore face masks either. So, for safety reasons, we won't go back.

The host took his time finishing whatever story he was in the middle of before he could be bothered to glance up at me… only to take my name down to say “I’ll do my best.” in regard to seating my party of two. There’s barely enough room to get in and out of the doorway due to the cramped nature of the restaurant, so not providing a wait time when it’s sub 30 degree weather outside is ridiculous. I’ve been here several times so I know “it’s their thing” but that shouldn’t pass for an excuse to be pretentious or condescending to customers. You hate to see it.

This place has always been delicious! My wife loves the veggie fajitas here! Always a treat!

Spinach queso and Elvis burrito was def the way to go. Looking around the restaurant all of the food looked delicious. The wait staff was busting it making sure everyone's drinks and chips were full. Not your typical Mexican restaurant.

A unique experience and atmosphere. The food and drinks are always amazing!! They also have the best queso around, pure deliciousness ? Definitely a local favorite!

Great Food and Absolutely LOVE the atmosphere! Must try in Knoxville!

Always love La Paz! Kevin super cool....great staff

This is one of our favorite spots to grab drinks and hot food! I would describe it as hippie Tex-Mex. They have the traditional Tex-Mex menu but with zucchini added or spinach or something just awesome that you wouldn’t expect in Mexican food! The servers are fast and kind and the drinks are always delicious!
