It has been a long time since we ate here. I will be to not wait so long next time. I ordered the manicotti. Amazing. The rolls and salad are so good too. All you can eat salad is a good thing when the salad taste this good.
I thought the portion size and the quality was just not there. Paid twice what this meal should cost. Server was not attentive to my liking. First and last trip.
My husband and I ate dinner here tonight and Ava served us. She was an absolute delight! She answered all of our questions about the menu with an awesome and helpful attitude. We were feeling cold from the AC, yet Dan, the general manager, was SO kind and thoughtful enough to turn it up. He also checked up on us a few times and I noticed him checking on other tables as well. Amazing staff and a great manager too! The food was sooo delicious! My husband and I really enjoyed our night because of this place! 5 stars hands down.
I've been going to Altruda's since 1990. They've been great through the years. I would always order drinks and appetizers at the bar, and plenty of food to go. That changed recently. The bar was shut down. We walked in, and didn't know. When I asked about getting carryout, I was told to go back out to my car, it would be an hour and a half, order online. Essentially, we were asked to leave. Rudely, like we were in the way. I had no idea. Paul saw it all, never stepped in. The end of an era for me. And, I wish them well. I understand. Sad though. Good-bye Altruda's. Best wishes.
My family and I dined at Altruda’s last night for my birthday. We have not dined there in over 10 years. We definitely won’t wait that long for the next time as our picky 13yo also loved it. The food, service and atmosphere was amazing. We really like that their tables aren’t crammed together. We don’t eat out often and are picky due to having an infant and the slowly getting better health crisis! When you eat here or anywhere, please go above and beyond to make the team at the restaurant feel appreciated. If you have not worked in this field, just know, it can be a difficult. And lastly, I can’t stress this enough, please TIP more than you think it’s worth, if the service is great, tip alot, if the service is not so great, tip alot. You have no idea what that person might be going through that day! Spread love, spread joy, Love God and Love People, ALL PEOPLE!!!
Still giving excellent service!! The food, especially the spaghetti grande was fabulous. And to top it off, the peanut butter pie was absolutely great!! The quality of the food is exceptional and the servers deserve to be commended for their prompt and gracious customer service. As for me, Altruda's is the best Italian restaurant in all of Knoxville. This place is definitely worth you time to visit and enjoy a hearty Italian meal!!!
Altrudas is by far Knoxville's best Italian restaurant. Beautiful decor replete with candles at every table and real cloth table drapes gives it a wonderful ambiance that's perfect for families and couples alike. There's even some private tables for lovers or discreet business meetings. An extensive wine list ensures every dish has a perfectly paired beverage to enhance the wonderful flavor of foods. I like to start with the antipasta, a delicious tray of deli meats, cheeses, olives, veggies and fresh tuna drizzled with olive oil and a hint of vinegar. As for the main course, take your pick from tradition pasta dishes, like lasagna and manicotti, to large, elaborate meat, seafood & poultry creations, I've tried most of them and every, single dish was delicious & memorable. Prices are comparable to all the other fine resteraunts in the West Knoxville-Farragut area with many items in the $15-20 range. Worth every cent and you're likely to have a nice sized take home bag for tomorrow's lunch. Bon appetit!
First time here, word of advice, get there early. Reservations only for table of 6 or more. We got there at 4:45, they open at 5 and there were probably 30-40 people in line in front of us. We didn't make first seating waited 45 minutes for a table but wow! Was it worth it! Outstanding in every area! Service, food, just outstanding!!! Our server Hannah was attentive and considerate, the owner checked on us. Quality of food, temperature, just impeccable! If I could give 20 stars, I would!!
I would say it's more authentic then most other Italian restaurants, but that's only an assumption. I am not from an Italian family, nor have I ever been to Italy. Regardless, this place is really good. I've been several times and never been disappointed.
Hands down THE best Italian food in the entire state. A true gem and a must visit if you’re ever in Knoxville. Paul, the owner, is a great guy. The Salad and rolls are as addictive as crack!
