Fantastic Neapolitan pizza! We visited from out of state, and had a great time at A Dopo. The owner, Jessica, and our server, Nichole, were great and very accommodating. The whole restaurant operated as a team, and multiple people came by to take care of little things throughout the night. The pizza was perfect, tasted like Italy, and the Gelato was so smooth and creamy. 10/10 would come again.
A Dopo is situated in the most unlikely of places, right at the side of an overpass (with free parking UNDER the overpass). The restaurant has an excellent reputation both locally and further afield and we were not disappointed. Booking is essential. We booked for 18:30pm and it was completely full. It remained at capacity throughout the time we were there. The menu is a little limited, to call it an Italian Restaurant would be a stretch – it’s a pizza restaurant and is very good at what it does. The acoustics are not good, I barely heard anything the waitress had to say and conversation was difficult, but it was good food and a good atmosphere.
Incredible atmosphere, very intimate and cozy indoor seating. Late night dinners are accompanied with low romantic lighting perfect for dates or special occasions. The wait staff are very knowledgeable in regards to wine and food selections, most questions I've had were greeted with quick and helpful answers. Of the half dozen or so times I've been, even during busy weekends, I've never had to wait more than 45 minutes for a table for 2 without a reservation. Simply the best pizza Knoxville has to offer, and everything else on their menu is just as exceptional.
Went to A Dopo recently while on short business trip in Knoxville. It was recommendation from wife's work colleague. Great choice. Recommend to get reservation if you are eating at restaurant. We got to go. Make sure you pay attention to size of pizza. We overbought but that was okay due to how great the pizza was. Not far away from downtown. Highly recommend and we will be back.
There's a new Pizza king in town now & not only is the pizza consistently amazing & unique, the ambience is great as well.I've actually eaten here a few times now & just wanted to ensure it was consistent before doing a review.Before A Dopo I would consider Tomato Head to be the high end pizza king of Knoxville but no more, A Dopo now has the crown with the light pizza crust, farm to table/homemade toppings, chill atmosphere, good wine, good service & out of this world Gelato. This place is more than a pizza, IT'S A VIBE.When you bite into the pizza & wash it down with a glass of red wine after a long day & finish it off with some homemade Gelato you will understand what I'm saying. You will never go back to the fast food chains type of pizza after this place.. I was not expecting to find this type of napoletan pizza around here but I did and I’m obsessed. Amazing dough with quality ingredients, flavorful all the way from appetizers to pizza to italian gelato, everything melts in your mouth to your heart.Make sure you make a reservation ahead or go when they open around 5 to catch a seat, it gets full fast, and there s a reason behind that.
Honestly - the best pizza I have ever had. EVER. I went to school in New York and had my fair share of REAL pizza. And had a hard time finding anything similar anywhere else. This pizza is incredible authentic, between the homemade mozzarella, the simple and perfect tomato sauce, the incredible pepperoni, and of course - the EPIC sourdough crust. It is the BEST pizza on planet earth. Even my husband agrees - and he is what I call a pizza purist - having been raised in Northeast PA. We ordered no less than 4 pizzas last time (two to eat there, and two to take home). It's incredible. The service and ambiance was great too :) Love this place.
I read that A Dopo sourdough pizza place was ranked 48th in the United States for the best pizza. Boy they were wrong. A Dopo should be ranked in the top 10!!! Make a reservation, they fill up fast. This is my favorite place to go eat pizza.
Just not for me. I have never been anywhere that did not have ice available. Pizza is a 5 out of 10 at best and the service is just a little better at 6.5. The place was clean but the restrooms are not clearly naked enough so there seemed to be an awkward line for the family facilities.
The best pizza you can get around Knoxville. First time here and we loved. We will come back for sure.
