We had the distinct pleasure to eat at this delicious BBQ last night. We are visiting from Utah and our son in law insisted thus was the only place to go! We even ate pizza our first night because, note to travelers, they are closed Sunday and Monday. It was worth the wait!! First of all the building itself is very vintage and welcoming. Of course with kids we needed to first stop at the restroom. Even though we arrived there one hour before close the bathroom looked freshly cleaned! The staff are soooooo friendly, helpful, and accommodating. You can order catering style (by quantity or number of persons)or at tableside. If you are ordering catering style, they prefer it as take-out. Brian is Phil's nephew who helped us, and he couldn't have been more accommodating to our large group. We ordered catering style. I have never tasted anything like this BBQ, so delicious!! We did the brisket, pulled pork, and ribs, sauced and dry rub, along with coleslaw, potato salad beans, and Mac and cheese (order large!) The Mac and cheese was devoured. The sauces are to die for, really! Makes my mouth water even now.? If you are anywhere near here, it's worth the drive!!
5 stars isn't enough. The brisket was described to me as the best in the tri-state and it definitely lived up to the recommendation. The dry rubbed ribs were awesome and so were all the sides. There was no bone or any fat on either meat. Can't wait to come back again!
Really good pulled pork. Not a single bite was dry or tough. Not too smoky, but could stand a little more spice in the bark. Sweet, Hot, and vinegar sauces were all very good. Their sweet tea is exactly right. Absolutely worth stopping by, would recommend these folks to anyone else tired of mediocre East Tennessee barbecue restaurants. I'm trying to find an excuse to her back this way so I can try out more of their menu.
They make awesome barbecue and they know how to do it right. There banana pudding is true banana pudding. I would highly recommend them and if they cater I think you would be happy. They also give a 10% military discount. I like spending my money here.
Some of the best Barbeque around. And there sides are excellent. Really like there baked beans with the meat in them and macaroni salad is some of the best. Potato salad I'm not a fan of normally but I really liked the flavor and everything about it.
This is the best BBQ that we've had in many years! Everything was amazing! The pulled pork was my fav. This was the first time that I've had pulled pork that wasn't full of fat. Also, the potato salad was awesome! We're definitely going to be frequent customers.
They have the BEST pulled pork. That smoky flavor. I like smoky bones too but that's a bar and grill. Never nice to be eating dinner And have someone to your left throw up because they drank to much. But Phil's... I'll bring my family back any day. The food is definitely worth the price. Excellent quality, very crickFriendly staff and the food is always fresh! They always have amazing quality!
Great place the locals like right off exit 10 on I26. Easy to get to and lots of parking. The employees will treat you like family. Amy questions or recommendations they are happy to help, not inconvenienced. There are times the line is backed out to the outside but the line was fast and plenty of seating. Very large portions with meat and sides, I can never finish, and I like to eat. Go try it out!
Great food. Fast service with a clean place to eat. Prices very reasonable.I had the half rack of ribs that fall off the bone. The sweet fire sauce just makes it better. Beans and slaw to top it off.Highly recommend you try it.
