While driving home to Asheville from Kentucky, I had a line of storms following me all the way. They finally caught me in Kingsport, so I decided to find a port in the storm at Model City Tap House.Sure enough, power was knocked out shortly after my arrival. But, the taps kept working, so they kept pouring. Once the rain went by, I sat out back with the owner while I tried a few selections from their diverse beer menu.Overall, it was a great pit stop after a day of hectic driving. Wish they were closer to home, but I'll make them a regular stop when I'm up that way.
Loved the atmosphere. Enjoyed the music bingo on a Thursday night. Sandwich was excellent .
I like the atmosphere here, but the only thing they sale that I like anymore is potato salad(which is delicious, but not a meal). I can’t drink beer, the seltzer they carry is not good, and they have discontinued their chicken salad. They should expand their options.
Love the location on the RR tracks, solid beer selection and yes they are dog friendly.
In town for a short time and this place was highly recommended as a great place to with good bartenders and a chill vibe. Was happy to say they didn’t let us down. Great bartenders and selection of brews for their changing menu. Large indoor seating and although we were there for a night cap patrons said the food options were also great. Fun place no one taking themselves to seriously but also light hearted and great at what they do. Worth having a stop and getting a drink with a friend and relaxing a bit. Cheers!!
Outdoor space is super cool since this seems to be an old train station, but the selection was disappointing- very few local beers/ciders.

Very cool location. Good selection of IPA's and cold beer. Nachos and sandwiches were very good!Definitely will be back soon. Staff and owners make the place work well
This is a personal shout out to this establishment and the man working behind the counter...thank you for letting me and my person I work with, have lunch outside even though we brought food from somewhere else..now that I know your here, we will definitely eat here..very nice place
Great place. The staff is very attentive and polite. The Gray Brothers were fantastic! What a wonderful atmosphere to meet-up with old friends in The Model City.
