My family of 5 generally eats here every couple of weeks, sometimes once a week. We generally have no issues with the food or seating etc. However, there is an older dark haired lady with glasses that works the register often. She is never ever friendly. Sometimes she is just flat out hateful and for absolutely no reason. If I'm spending close to $100 a pop plus a tip is it going to kill you to just have some hospitality? Another thing she does that really gets on my nerves is when I order I tell her 2 kids buffets for my kids and she always says so hatefully "how old are they?!?". They are obviously in the kids buffet age range you can tell by looking at them. When she asks that so harshly it makes you feel like she's acting suspicious that you are lying to get a cheaper meal for them. I should not feel that way every time I order especially when we are there that often. I am far from broke and would not need to lie to get a couple dollars off my bill when I'm already spending tons of money there bi-weekly sometimes weekly. That register lady needs to be re-trained and coached in hospitality.
Golden Coral is always amazing! I love how it doesn't matter what I'm in the mood for they usually always have it. I would have given 5 stars but they have fallen way behind on the desserts since COVID-19 and have yet to get some variety back. Most of the desserts taste store bought and I really miss the famous chocolate pie. One of the waitresses said they're unable to get the ingredients for the chocolate pie because the place they bought from went out of business when COVID hit. Isn't the anywhere else they could buy what they need from? Oh I miss that chocolate pie.
They want to charge you full price for half the menu . That is rediculous. I should get a refund for this.
Why get rid of the sweet potato soufflé when y’all should’ve took that fake macaroni and cheese off the menu. You can’t just cater to a certain group of people and not everyone. The chicken strips was cooked to hard also!
The biggest thing is variety. And the staff is nice. Julie is awesome.And you can't beat the prices for all those choices. And I just want to thank the man who made me a cheese omelet. He was very nice, and it was delicious.
If I could give No stars I most certainly would , I will never eat at this Golden Coral in Kingsport !Where can I start , let see well the Bar Glasses the Glass that is above the Food was just nasty and dirty , you couldn't see thru the glass , the food was cold , We unfortunately got a steak it was so hard ,Hard telling how long it had been sitting there all they do is put hot water underneath the pan that the steak is in its not one bit fresh it's like rubber .So is the Ribs it was hard the rolls were just as hard ! Don't get me started on the women's bathroom ! You couldn't stand to go in there it smelled Terrible ! The service sucked the waitress we had act like she was on something ! I was so frustrated about the whole ordeal I didn't get any pictures ! I should had , I would advise not to go there ,if you do go look around the bar and see for your self before you give them any money at all ! Hope your experience is better than ours ! My Boyfriend and myself will never eat there again that's for sure ! I would really like to know who the management is there so I can voice my consernes !
The food was good but some items would have been better if they had been a little warmer. The atmosphere is a lot better since the previous owner is gone. Most of the good servers that were there before are still working and they are even pleased to be working for the new owner. The new owner came by our table and asked if we enjoyed our meal. Much better place would have given 5 stars if some items had been a little warmer. If you haven't been there in a while I would recommend giving the place another try.
Since I have not eaten there but 1 time after it's fire and restoration and then the COVID-19 pandemic we went out to eat dinner as a little family time together. I had a really nice salad with almost every single thing I remembered. I also wanted to have steak and potatoes and when Golden Coral was mentioned in the conversation I jumped on the idea. The buffet bar's did not have as much as the previous years but was still pretty full. I hope they are able to get back to normal with the completely full line of food. Friendly people and moderately clean table area and restroom
They finally got it together again! The service was good. The food was mostly fresh. Our waitress was nice and friendly, on top of refilling our drinks and asking if everything was OK and if we needed anything else! The restaurant was clean and followed Covid protocol!
Everyone was nice, great waiter, clean place, food was good only there wasn't the variety they have had before, like baked fish and chicken. Everything was breaded. Need some low carb desserts like sugar free hello and need to state it.
