Had never ate there before until last night (July 4th). The waitress we had was amazing. She was very knowledgeable of everything and made awesome recommendations. The wings were good, but I’d had better. HOWEVER….the pizza? PHENOMENAL!!!!!! Definitely recommend the house special. We spoke to the manager on duty, just to tell him how good the pizza was and how we were impressed with our waitress as well as his work ethic. Every employee there, including him, were working. If they weren’t making pizzas, they were cleaning. For this, I thank all who were working on the 4th of July. We now have a new favorite pizza place and we definitely will return. I didn’t get the manager’s name as I wish I had. He was a younger gentleman with glasses. Will definitely be back!!!!!
Very good vegetarian /vegan option. Vegan cheese was really good. My veg out pizza didn't have mushrooms, but they charged me for 1addition anyway. Spinach salad was really very good. Very good waitress. Felt the toppings were quite sparse on the veg. Pizza. Good food and service, but a bit overpriced for the sparsely topped pizza.
If I could I would give this place zero!! Our server acted like she was in another world. Placed order for 2 starters and a medium pizza. We got our drinks and server never came back. No straws no napkins. Sat for almost a hour . Finally asked another worker for straws and to check on our starters. Said that she never came back. Finally after they looked confused checked on our starters and brought them to us. Said manager would come and give us more bread for spinach dip. Very disappointed that they where barely warm and they had been sitting under warmer for a long time. Another worker walked by and we said can we have forks and napkins to eat. Also Said that our server still has not been over since she gave us our drinks. She tells server who never ONCE looked up at us just kept standing at register. When the second worker brought us the forks and napkins we said cancel our pizza we are leaving! She goes and tells them! And now let the confusion start. I seen her walk in circles 4 times trying to figure out our pizza that was by the way.. sitting under warmer for awhile. We got up and walked out. That when a man tried to stop us to give us the pizza for free! Hell no! I said give it to someone who has been waiting forever like us. Worst service ever and a waste of our time. Don't go there!!
We ordered apps and a pizza; it was good but extremely pricey. My husband didn’t like the crust on the pizza, I liked it. He said it was too much bread and doughy.The atmosphere was fun and quirky, we would go back to try something else.
Our family was impressed with the pizza we ate there again next day for take out. The pizza has a good flavor and the crust was soft. The only thing missing was some cheese sauce to dip the crust in. Good price and toppings were generous. Excellent phone skills and the staff were super friendly, only had to wait a few mins. We will be back again and again and probably again. By the time I remembered to take pics my family ate it all.

Recently diagnosed with Celiac disease. This means I cannot eat any food containing gluten. Because MM offers gluten-free crust and their prep is safe for me, I am able to eat pizza again. Because I spend so much time watching people eat foods I cannot have, eating at Mellow Mushroom is simply the best experience. I can simply enjoy a meal with friends and family and not have to bring my own food or watch others eat. The food is absolutely delicious, the staff is always friendly and helpful, and I can’t recommend Mellow Mushroom enough for all these reasons.
We’re new in town. We decide to try Mellow Mushroom in Johnson city. They bring my kids rotten vegetables. Several months go by, we decide to try it again. They bring my kids rotten vegetables again. The manager was awesome. The server was awesome. However, mellow mushroom is not to be trusted. Oh, and I have diarrhea the day after. Nice added touch, mellow mushroom. Thanks. I will say that the taste of the pizza met our expectations. However, I don’t trust the organization enough to ever go back.
Walked in at 8:30 on a Friday night and they refused to seat us. They said they close in 20 minutes. I was under the impression that a restaurant was open for business until they… you know.. close. This is the last time I go here. I didn’t want to but they were close. They have cardboard crust pretty sure they ordered from Amazon. The rest of the pizza is a gamble based upon what night of the week you order. It could resemble a pizza, or it just might resemble a melted kids toy. That is, if the kitchen didn’t “lose your ticket” which happens a lot. Plenty of other places within 7 minutes of this place that are better and happy to have you as a customer.
This was the first time I’ve tried Mellow Mushroom and it will be my last. I have never had such an awful dining experience! My family arrived 20 minutes before I did and as I was sitting down they got their drink order taken. Non/alcoholic drinks. We waited 30 minutes for appetizers, I could understand the wait if they were busy. When we placed our food order, I asked for a salad and asked if it could be brought out before the pizzas. It came out after the pizzas, I informed the server, I no longer wanted it. She brought it anyway. While we were waiting for our pizzas, we watched 3 tables that came in after us get their food before we got ours. And 2 of the tables had a larger number of people in their party. The service was awful. Once the food was delivered, she never once came back to the table to see if we needed anything else. We had to flag down another server to get something for us! We asked to speak to the manager. Because of our bad experience, he did comp our meal. If they had been in the “weeds”, I could understand the long wait times. But they weren’t. Never going back again!
