I cannot say enough good things about this place. I’m originally from New York and getting the Chinese food is very difficult. We love it here, so much that we drive an hour each way just to come here almost weekly. My favorites are the chicken and broccoli, honey chicken, and eggrolls. My hubby likes the beef and broccoli. Also I like the honeydew milk tea. This is one of the best place I’ve been.
Great experience on every level. Food was hot and fresh. Tasty and NO MSG. Service was impeccable even on a busy Friday night. It was obvious that the staff works together as a team and seem to be happy to be there. The owner even visits all the table for feedback and appreciation. You can tell that he genuinely cares. There is no substitute for leadership. Great atmosphere. Clean and the dining room is well maintained. We frequent The Magic Wok for all the reasons listed above. Thank you for making this possible.
My wife, brothers, mom, friends and I eat here a lot. The authentic Szechuan food is excellent! The shredded pork sauteed with pickled mustard greens is always on our order list. The owner is hard working and a great guy! We'll never stop coming here.
By far the best Szechuan/Chinese food anywhere in Tennessee! We have literally driven to Johnson City from Knoxville just to eat here. Be sure to ask for the Authentic menu (they can make you “American” Chinese food too, but why when you can have so much better?!) Also, the owner is AWESOME!!
Boba tea, egg drop soup and an entree for my mother.Expensive, yes, but it is quality and it is genuine eastern fare. Fantastic.They do have a wait though; that wait isWorthIt.
The chicken my a fun was dry, no sauce in it at all. It also had scrambled eggs in it. It's not made that way. It was nasty and for $ 11 dollars for a bowl is rediculous. I will not be going back.
The fried rice was bland and some of the beef was tough. The peppers and onions were so big you could probably choke on them. The egg drop soup didn't have any green onions on top and none of the little dried egg noodles in it! First time and quiet honestly, the last time. Over half of the menu was blacked out and the sweet tea was horrible so I asked for a Coke. Wasn't offered a drink refill until we were ready to leave
This is a great place for authentic Chinese food. We asked for the Chinese menu and ordered braised beef with soft bean curd and sliced pork sauteed with Szechuan spices and were pleasantly surprised. Definitely want to come back to this place to try other dishes on the menu.

Best dining experience we’ve ever had at a local Asian restaurant! - Everything was impressive; From the servers willingness to help, to the owner coming out to chat with us and talk about his food. - Very clean environment, the presentation was nice, and the food was extremely tasty!! - Best fried rice I think I’ve ever had! - My wife and I got the Szechuan Beef, Chicken LoMein, Egg Drop Soup, & Hot Sour Soup! - Everything was excellent. Our new favorite place to visit on our days off! - Thank you Chow, for making our first experience one that will make us come back again and again!! ???
