Harbor House Seafood was a really excellent choice for us. We were on a day trip to Johnson City and then to Elizabethton Tennessee and as we came back we stopped there and had dinner and the parking lot was full. Most excellent choice have a restaurant in a small town.If you're in Johnson City or near Johnson City you should definitely take the time to go eat a wonderful meal. By the way the sea food is very fresh.
Well, they are not serving crab legs or clam strips anymore and well thats mostly why we go there. On a positive note, my daughter got the fried fish which was delicious as evidenced by the fact that she actually ate her dinner. However, I would advise against the shrimp cocktail as the shrimp was mushy in appearance, should have never made it to the table and so that was a waste.
Normally I would give them a 5 star rating. But the last 2 times we have ordered a pick up order it has been less than good. The fish has been soggy. Last time the Coleslaw tasted like it had soap or some kind of cleaner in it. This time the Coleslaw was completely frozen. For some reason the food quality has gone downhill a lot. Not sure if I want to order from there again.
Years ago this used to be my favorite restaurant. then something happened and and the quality dropped and I stopped going. I had some out of town family come into town recently and they wanted to go to the harbor house and eat so we went, and soon thereafter I was reminded of why I stopped going there. The waitress acted as if we were troubling her and this was a nine person dinner which promised to be a good tip day, I ordered the special of the day white fish and I swore it was catfish, small and thin I thought my order had been switched but nope everyone that ordered it received the same. if you want real fish go to fisherman's dock I will never go back to harbor house again.
Great fish, sea onion and best hush puppies. Highly recommended

Our server was amazing! He was so nice and super attentive. I wish I remembered his name.. food was great too. The fried shrimp are very yummy & portions were large. Enjoyed our leftovers for lunch the next day. Even the kids meal came loaded with popcorn shrimp. Clean environment.
Really good popcorn shrimp and baked potato. The hush puppies are amazing! Two others in my party thought the fish was dry. We would visit again.
Waitstaff was good. Atmosphere good. Prices good. Flounder was tasteless. The deviled crab was tasty (was the outside a shell? Waiter couldn't tell me.) Key lime pie was great.
