There is no as of today Dine in its only take out Good food. Reasonably priced I had sweet n sour chicken ,they do serve the thick sweet red sauce, my husband had the chicken kung pow(how ever its spelled) it had A LOT of celery overload. but he ordered it with beef not chicken like he was given. Egg roles were good as well as egg drop soup thats a small size in the pictures. That size was plenty.
I didn't realize the restaurant was pretty much closed when I stopped for lunch. There is a sign on the front door directing customers into the little plastic enclosure through the next door. The restaurant is piled high with supplies & whatnot & the plastic is dirty making it anything but appealing. If the woman on the other side of the sliding window hadn't started talking to me, I would have left. I ordered 2 spring rolls, paid & waited...& waited...& waited - over 10 minutes. I was surprised at the size of the spring rolls - as large as an egg roll. Unfortunately, they were rather flavorless. Except for the cabbage, I really couldn't discern any flavor. I should have just walked away when I saw the plastic cage - I definitely won't be back!!
If you like sesame fried bread balls and Kung Pao celery along with cabbage only egg rolls then this is the place for you. Just another typical Chinese food takeout that doesn’t care about quality. They just want your money!! Just awful!!
Chicken had so much breading and very little meat. Overcooked also. Crab Rangoon's don't have much filling. Just blah Chinese food
Not so happy when you order boneless ribs and get broccoli filling the bottom of the container. Thought it was a mistake the first time we ordered, but our second time back it was the same. What's up with that?
I have been a satisfied customer of Happy Wok for many years. This family-owned business is a gem of the Boones Creek area. My picky son loves it, and we are frequent customers. I have never been disappointed. The portions are generous, the flavor is always on point, and the lady who runs the front is so friendly and nice. Love Happy Wok!
I don't recommend it. I ordered a large "chicken w. cashew nuts" - it was primarily diced pieces of crunchy celery, carrots & chicken (which is another issue). I had to pick the chicken out because it had so much fat on it & throughout the meat that I questioned whether it was really chicken (it just did not have the taste, texture or appearance of being chicken) and therefore, could not eat it. I did find a few mushrooms that were way over cooked as compared to the carrots & celery, and a couple pieces of water chestnuts. The rice that came with it was stuck together in chewy clumps.
The food is delicious and not too pricey. They still have the dining room closed due to covid.
By far the best Chinese restaurant in Johnson City. I've never ordered anything that I wouldn't order again.
Really enjoy the food and staff here.
