Hands down one of the best burgers I've ever had! With burgers you genuinely seem to miss some aspect of it. Either the patty is seasoned correctly and the bun falls short. Or the bun is good and somebody decided it was a good idea to not season the patty. Or the toppings aren't fresh. But with this burger even the chipotle mayo was 100% flavorful and seasoned. Oh, and the staff? Phenomenal! You don't need any other review, this is the one. You'll love the burgers!
I don't normally turn into an animal when I eat, but the burger I got here was so good that I, uh, may have needed more napkins than usual. The blue cheese burger I got had me slobbering like a frantic Golden Retriever that has just made off with the prime rib roast from your family's Christmas dinner. The sweet potato fries and maple mayo that my partner ordered gave me pause at first - but like everything else, it was the perfect balance in flavors, and my only regret is that I don't live closer. Delicious!
Mark waited on us and helped us make an informed decision about what to eat. He was very friendly and accurate with his suggestions. The food and service was excellent!
Wow! The Burger Bar just became one of our top 5 favorite restaurants. We were looking to go somewhere different and decided to give the Burger Bar a try. We had attempted to eat there for lunch a couple of times, but for now they are only open for dinner (starting at 5). Our waitress was friendly and helpful. You get a dry erase menu and a marker to customize your burger. You get to choose your cheese and then add up to 4 toppings. My husband got a burger on a brioche bun with provolone, slaw, onions, spinach, and mushrooms. I got a burger without the bun with pimento cheese, onion rings, mushrooms, lettuce, and sundried tomatoes. There are several options for toppings and sauces. We split paremsan tater tots with garlic aioli. My daughter had a plain cheeseburger and fries with ranch. Everything was absolutely delicious. The ingredients were so fresh and the fries and tots were crispy and perfect. This restaurant is a MUST if you are in Johnson City. It's connected to the Double Tree hotel near the mall. Do yourself a favor and skip the wait list at one of the chain restaurants on this side of Roan, and just hop over to the Burger Bar. You will be so glad you did.
It's an alright place but it's not worth $12.00 just for a hamburger.. I would say maybe $10.00 for a hamburgers with French fries, and thats being generous. Although besides that, it's a nice clean place and somewhat friendly.I give it a 3.6 out of 5.
Best-kept secret in town, as it is tucked away in the corner of a hotel and not well-known to locals. The locals need to find it, though! Gourmet burgers, available with a wide array of options. This is a big ole burger … prepare to destroy your diet, or at least take a vacation from it. There is a black bean patty option for vegetarians.
We live nearby and never visited Burger Bar before. It is a small, unassuming spot attached to a hotel. My only regret is that we’ve waited so long to eat here. The burgers were perfect, from the toppings to the excellent flavor. I loved the sweet potato fries! Our whole family enjoyed it. We’ll be back!
I came to Burger Bar for my first time on February of 2022. I always carry my own drink because I don't trust restaurants to be clean. I was told that there was no outside food or drinks permitted in Burger Bar. When I ask them to make an exception she said no and as the hostess made a scene, she refused to serve us because I brought in and outside drink. I drink water all the time in many restaurants and I've never been treated with such disrespect by anyone. I highly recommend ANY other restaurant if you're considering Burger Bar in Johnson City TN. And if you walk in with your own drink (even water) you will experience discrimination.
It was so nice to find an operating restaurant in a hotel. Very friendly staff. We only ordered drinks in the evening. Limited selection. Breakfast buffet food was just okay.
