Terribly slow getting food, bread looked under cooked. Food definitely not worth the wait. I a was so disappointed in this place, go somewhere else or even fast food, not worth the time or money!!!
I feel as if I ate in a different restaurant than the other reviewers. But I was definitely at Bella Vita. This restaurant does something I have never encountered before and I travel frequently and eat out a lot. I was told by my server that "we do not provide paper checks." She wanted me to hand over my credit card to her without knowing what I owed or if my bill had been tallied correctly. She would just take my card and go charge it, then come back with something for me to sign. When I refused she very begrudgingly brought me a slip of paper that looked like it came from an adding machine. She then took my card and came back with the usual credit card slip for me to add the tip and sign. But it was so blurred that if I had not asked for my charges previously I would not have known what it said. This policy seems highly suspicious, possibly unethical and maybe even illegal? Can a restaurant really charge people by just telling them what they owe without proving it?! Why would customers go along with it?!Otherwise the food was good, not exceptional. Ditto the service. I won't be going back.
This was our first visit to Bella Vita and we left very impressed with both the food and the service. Menu items are cooked to order with fresh ingredients and the staff put extra effort into making sure you will be pleased with your choices. Both our entrees were outstanding and miles ahead of any other Italian food we have had in the Tri-state area. There is an excellent wine list and again the staff are there to help you make the right choice. Since moving to Johnson City we have been searching for a go-to restaurant that offers the trifecta of great food, wine and service. We believe we have found it in Bella Vita.
I went in on a Friday night was seated almost instantly. Waitress was very nice and helpful. We went with the large pizza atmosphere was very romantic and comfortable. Menu was very good. I highly recommend this place for date night.
It was wonderful! The food was amazing. The portions were huge so you get your moneys worth. The waitresses and waiters were so kind a friendly. It was just an amazing atmosphere to dine in and relax.
Love the food here and the old time not fancy Italian restaurant atmosphere. My fav restaurant in Johnson City area.
Phenomenal! Very crowded but staff was attentive. Appetizer clams in white wine was incredible. Scallops, shrimp and calamari on linguine with red sauce and then the cannoli. Best Italian restaurant I’ve eaten at and I’m Italian.
I ate chicken marsala, just like it's supposed to taste. my wife's chicken spinach fettuccine was okay and everything was hot. They were happy to share a free canoli with the option of there other desserts (till there out), for my wife's birthday. I met the owner nice man hard working serving his own tables. Thanks and recommend you to anyone wanting genuine Italian food.
Nice quiet atmosphere. The food was fresh and delicious. The owner greeted our table and I thought that was nice. The wait for food wasn't long at all. The wine selection was phenomenal. It's a must try place for sure! The picture I provided is the Bailey Pizza with added mushrooms. Try it!!!
Very quaint Italian restaurant with a great atmosphere. The food and service were both excellent.
