I saw all of the cars parked at this place midday on a Friday and I just had to stop. I am sooooo glad I did! The food was very delicious and packed with so much flavor. They have great choices on the menu and I wanted to order everything! I actually ordered 3 meals to go for the family. The servers were very friendly and the atmosphere was great! The prices were reasonable and worth every penny. Do yourself a favor and stop by. You won't regret it.
I went to Jake’s Place for the first time yesterday with a large party and wow! Were they on top of everything! From the moment we walked in, we felt welcome. Even though we were a party of 10 they handled us without hesitation. In my opinion, every meal was made to perfection. I personally ordered the pulled pork plate and it was delicious. The portions were so large I took half home with me. Everything was flavorful and perfectly cooked. I ordered ribs to take home for my son and he loved those too - the meat was so tender and fell right off the bone. This was just an amazing meal at a wonderful and welcoming local restaurant. I can’t wait to go back! ?
Fantastic place to stop at and enjoy. Very clean and open. Large servings of food and delicious!! Our waitress seemed young but was very polite, helpful with the menu, attentive and a total pleasure. I believe her name was Seanne. Even the owner took time to come check on us and talk a few minutes. Totally looking forward to next visit.
Been meaning to try Jake's Place forever finally had lunch there and was fantastic service and food!!! Bryan waited on us and he was so friendly and told us his favorites off menu. He was the best! Owner is great cook and person, checked on us to see how we liked food. He went the extra mile wonderful roast beef. Big portions great variety definitely going back. Banana pudding out of this world!
From the time we entered the door to the time we left, the customer service and simply the energy of all the staff was great! I can’t speak for all of the food yet, but the Brisket Chili Fries, Lumberjack Country Fried Steak and Pork Fritter Sandwich was all great! Certainly can’t wait to try the rest of the menu.

I ordered a cheeseburger with fries and my husband ordered 2 chili dogs with tater tots. My cheeseburger and fries where not real hot and when they brought his food out he said his other chili dog would be out in a few. The tater tots were warm & chili dog were warm but the second chili dog they brought out was cold. Our server was very nice and did great serving us it was service from the kitchen. We have ate here several times and food was always good so we was disappointed but we will be back.
Jakes Place is a great family restaurant in the Shackle Island community. They have excellent food, excellent service, smiling faces, and great food prices!! We’ve had one of everything and it’s all great.Support local and get them out!
Very disappointed with this meal. Ordered pork chops and I think a spiral ham slice is thicker than the two pork chops combined that were given. Mashed potatoes are boxed. Italian beef bread was hard as a rock and stale. Cat fish was tough. Definitely won’t be back. I can spend $50 + anywhere.
