Was so excited to try this place, been hearing about it for almost a year. The catfish was good would have been better if the fryer oil was fresh. The tarter sauce was heavy on the mayo and had no relish , kinda bummed . The hush puppies had real peppers and corn in them which was super exciting until they over cooked them . The slaw was dry and our shrimp was under cooked . The menu has potential , maybe try another location .....this one just didn't have the juice
I visited the restaurant 4/10/2022. Great customer service from the staff. The restaurant is very clean to sit and enjoy but the food was intriguingly different. I ordered salmon which came with one side I chose Cajun cabbage. I added an additional side of fried okra which was good but the cabbage tasted as if vinegar was used heavily. The salmon was good but it was a little burnt. I substituted the cabbage for fries after two fries I was disappointed. My meal costed around $20+ dollars.
Eat here. Often. You will be glad you did. One of the best restaurants in America.
They have lots of good options. Get catfish, poboys, tacos there regularly. Bread is good, which is important for sandwiches to me.The sides are a little too off traditional comfort food for my taste, but fries are delicious. Nothing is “spectacular”, but an easy place to please everyone.Family friendly, but adult friendly as well.Very reasonably priced, even now with food prices up.Service is solid.
The best Soul Food I’ve had here so far. Been looking high and low for some delicious soul food and you guys were just 2 mins away from my hotel. When say everything was season great nice portion size and that strawberry cake is so moist and delicious. Keep up the good work.Me and My Family are just visiting Memphis we’re from Grand Rapids,MI .
Went here for lunch and the food was very good. I had a shrimp and oyster po boy. Looking forward to trying some other things in the menu. A little pricier than average lunch. I dropped about $18 and I had water with my meal.
The best catfish & shrimp lightly breaded. Cucumber Salad needs more vinegar & onions! The most exquisite homemade Strawberry Cake. I savored every bite. Cool, fun atmosphere. Friendly waitress. Excellent value. We're from KS, no trouble finding location. Wish ODP: Olympic Dev. Soccer lasted longer. We'd be here daily to try everything on the menu. Highly recommend.
Very disappointed with our takeout lately from Soul Fish. Tonight the wings were very small and tasted old and soggy! The French fries were barely cooked. This is the 3rd or 4th takeout that has not been good! We usually love the food from Soul Fish.
Tonight I ordered two catfish regular dinners (which I’ve ordered several times before) via takeout from Soul Fish Cafe in Germantown. Imagine my amazement when my significant other returned to the car and told me the cost. Checking the receipt, I noticed our dinners were each $3.00 more than our recent order AND we were charged 10% of our ticket, an additional $3.30, because we had it “To Go’s” per the ticket. At this point, our ticket is approximately $9.00 more than anticipated (without a tip). We get home with our meals and the cold slaw is warm, more like room temperature and the fries are burnt and cold. What a complete disappointment. What happened to this restaurant? On our way home, I called and spoke to the manager about the cost but was only given a ‘your fault’ (sic) instead of something like — I’m sorry you were unaware of our price increases so next time you come in please have dessert on us. Nope - nothing but goodbye. I’m well aware my ticket won’t make or break this restaurant but to me this was such a mistake on the part of the manager, it is not worth me visiting this restaurant again. Definitely a thumbs down.
Food was absolutely delicious! I would definitely go back!
