We are appalled that the management has decided to implement a dress code, even for lunch. It lowers the class of the place

My family and I had an amazing time, it was about eleven of us. We were celebrating my husband and his twin’s birthday. Not only was the food and drinks amazing, the staff was so professional, helpful and very attentive to our needs. The staff ended the birthday celebration with complimentary champagne and fudge brownie with ice cream (can you say “amazing” one more time with me).We had a night of laughter, great fellowship, and left with an awesome impression of the Moondance Grill. My husband and I live a couple of hours away, but Memphis is our hometown, we will definitely be back. This restaurant is definitely worth five stars and the money! Management was on point, checking on everyone and making sure we were having a great time. Shout out to Gabrielle, our incredible waitress!

Are you kidding me? I was in a dressy shirt (Tommy Bahama) without a collar & dress pants @ 2:30pm. It’s 100 degrees. I was rejected because I didn’t have a collar. They did offer me a collared shirt to wear. No thanks. Unbelievable. Lost a good customer today. Was one of my favorite restaurants in the area. Unfortunate and silly dress code. Get over yourselves! Back to Jim’s Place Grille as my top spot.

Went to moondance grill for dinner and drinks. We have been going there since they opened. We supported them by ordering takeout when Covid shut them down at least weekly. We have probably been there over 100 times. Didn’t have a reservation, asked hostess if we could sit at the bar. Sat down ordered drinks and an appetizer. So far so good. In the middle of a bite the manager walked over and loudly asked my husband if he had a shirt with a collar in the car. Answer: no. Then asked if he had a jacket in the car. Answer: no. He then asked us to leave because my husband’s designer shirt didn’t have a collar. We have never had such a humiliating and embarrassing experience. They serve burgers and fries for heaven sake. Turn us away at the door if that is your policy, don’t wait until we are eating just to humiliate us. Very sorry we supported you all this time.

Anniversary celebration gone bad. Ordered Blackened Red Fish. First bite was a mouth full of bones. Manager said mine was the second one of the evening. Wondering why they kept serving it after the first? Either way, they charged me full price for my alternate choice and insulted me by adding gratuity. It was just the two of us. Disappointed is an understatement.

Upon my arrival I requested seating for a table of 1. I was informed there was no available seating until 7:45 PM but could sit at any available bar area seating. I located a 4top Sat and waited. 15 minutes later a hostess advised the table was for reservations only and I would need to move. I explained the door hostess advised me I lit I located a bar area seating I could receive full service. She said we have a lot of new people and they were mistaken. I got up walked around and unfortunately could not located any bar seating. It is very discerning and now I am sitting outside on a bench for my birthday. The rules always change for black people!

SLOW SERVICE, RAW FOOD but Great AMBIANCE.Disappointed doesn’t even begin to describe my experience here. I was super excited to finally enjoy the ambiance and great food so many of my friends bragged about…especially the lamb chops.Got my bubble busted… the lamb chops were absolutely HORRIBLE! I’ve never had practically raw, gamey tasting lamb lollipops ?We waited so long for our food to only be disappointed! For the price of the menu I expected my food to have been TOP NOTCH!This fine dining experience for us was on the level of a basic chain restaurant. Drinks were tolerable.

Went to Moondance Grill on Monday 06/06/2022 to celebrate a friend birthday. When you walk in the place you will notice how shiny and clean the place is. I wish I remember the waiter name that serve us. He was very energetic and seem like he wants to do what best for the customers. My friend had the Moondance classic burger with cheese and fries. I had the Kale and Cranberry Salad and added blackened chicken to the salad. I glad I added the blackened chicken to the salad it really bought out the flavor to the salad with the cranberry, apple, and the dressing. The bread I have was definitely top 5 in best bread service.

Really enjoyed this meal, definitely left full and happy. Tip: Make reservations, we made ours originally for a Fri evening 1 week in advance, and times were very limited. Ended up changing it for reasons to a Thurs evening a few days prior. Got the Spring cocktails, the spring thyme spritzer was the best of the 2, the other being the run for the roses. We also got the chargrilled oysters, half dozen, but they weren't $23 worthy. Also got the pretzel roll prime Rib, again, not worth $21 (only prime Rib in Memphis worth anything, is the French dip at Houston's - side note)....both of these were starters - try another starter is my suggestion. Ordered the bourbon molasses salmon. Salmon was good, the sides that come with are sweet potato casserole, definitely yummy, and green beans. Trade out the green beans...bit tough and rubbery. Dessert got the cream brulee, again very yummy and very rich - we should've shared 1 as each of us getting 1 definitely put us over the top of beyond full. Atmosphere was wonderful, we sat on the enclosed patio and it was perfect, around 8 pm....very romantic and refreshing. The servers are beyond polite and professional, prob some of the best in Memphis. Overall 4 stars, prices off on a few things for quality, but otherwise excellent and definitely glad had the experience.

As always dinner was fabulous! We came out for a small, intimate, family dinner. We had a great variety from the menu and shared items. The sweet potato casserole never disappoints, just the right amount of sweet and buttery. The steak is cooked to perfection, no sauce needed. If you don't like lamb chops, it's because you haven't tried these tender, juicy, beauties. The mash potatoes are creamy with just the right amount of thickness to let you know they are real potatoes. The salmon is tender and flaky. The shrimp & grits are just to great to describe. Most of all the service is absolutely phenomenal!
