Upon landing in Memphis, we knew very little about where to eat. After asking a few newfound friends, we were led to Las Tortugas a neat little restaurant tucked away in the corner of a stripmall-ish building in Germantown. We were a little undecided about what to get so the owner, joined us, coming out from behind the counter to give us an overview of the menu. We chose a few items to try and then Pepe was back to have us try some of the different salsas and sauces. We felt so special and welcomed. Our food arrived quickly and we dove into our carnitas and al pastor. The food was so fresh and the flavors so tasty. We knew immediately that we'd be back again.
Las Tortugas is a beautiful woman who wants to be wined and dined. She treats you kindly and never breaks your heart. I believe I would take her on a second date. She's fancy and not too expensive yet knows how to have a good time.
Such a good authentic place. He notice we were new and wanted to give us a few little free appetizers to start with. Wouldn’t go anywhere else to try this authentic delicious food.
Amazing food, even better staff! As a Celiac, the staff took the time to walk me through the menu and their safe GF practices. I highly recommend!
This place is really good. Food was hot and delicious. Price is a bit high for what you get. I felt it was not worth it, but can understand why people love it. Service was great and I recommend anyone who loves sandwiches to give it a try.
Food is always good and I want to say it's the owner of the owner's son who's usually working in the cash register he is just phenomenal so nice so personal and so helpful. Have you get a chance Go check the place out It is really good
Food is good. Left feeling pretty content. Little on the pricey side I'd think. Chips/Pico or salsa, 2 meals, fountain drink and horchata was 50bux. 49 something actually. Then tip made me around the 60 dollar mark. Little much for my liking.
Las Tortugas cannot be beat! All their food is made fresh and taste like it! The owners are so nice and friendly. The food is a little more expensive than you’ll find elsewhere but absolutely worth the splurge. Everything is delicious- especially the guacamole.

Very unique and delicious spot for lunch. Small but intimate. I came from out of town....and a friend recommended. The owner is great and welcoming to new customers...but I have to say I will be back next time I am in town. Highly recommend!
