We changed our minds on where we wanted to eat and came to Split Rail instead. The employees were super friendly and the place was spotless. Our food came out quickly and was delicious. I got a smash burger with tots, my husband got a salad and buffalo chicken sandwich. The tots are easily the best I've had in a very long time, perfectly fried and delicious. My husband's salad was also great, every vegetable was so fresh and crisp. The sandwiches were also yummy. We will be back if we're in the area again
We visited Split Rail with our family along with our dogs for breakfast. We ate outside. They were very attentive and the food was great. It’s off the beaten path but we’ll worth the trip. Great French toast and chicken!!!
My husband and I ate here a couple of times on our visit the food and coffee drinks we got were amazing and the staff was very friendly! We would definitely eat here again when we visit!

This is definitely the best place we ate during our trip. Split Rail Eats is absolutely beautiful. The food is home made style delicious. We had American breakfast for all the kids and for lunch, stacked Yardbird, Mac and cheese (the best), soup and Cheesesteak. Split Rail Eats has a charming and cozy atmosphere even though it is very busy, we didn’t wait long for the food. Our waitress was very nice and added to our experience. I would recommend the cookies and boozy shakes.
Came across this hidden gem on the map and I am very glad I found it! It was a nice change of pace from eating in town. Everyone was friendly and pleasant to chat with. Prices were reasonable and the food came out quick and piping hot! I had the Buffalo chicken sandwich with potato tots and my friend had the Buffalo bowl. Both were very good! The chicken was crunchy and moist! Next time I am in the area, I will gladly come back for another tasty meal!Ps: love the picture with the Legos in the restroom! Lol
Cute spot! Went right before 11 (when they stop serving breakfast) and the staff was considerate and asked if we wanted to order from the breakfast menu, which we did. Lots of delicious options depending on your taste! Very welcoming overall.
We found Split Rail Eats on Trip Advisor after arriving at our cabin and wanted something to eat but we weren’t quite ready for Saturday crowds in Gatlinburg. What a great restaurant. Sincerely, highly recommend. Great atmosphere, decor and food was fantastic. It is a little pricey for “counter order” style food, but it is delivered to your table and my wife and two pickey teenage young adult daughters loved our meals. I had a Philly cheesesteak that was incredible and a Coke in a real bottle. We all topped it off with a scoop of ice cream. My one complaint for them is it’s a little hard to find nestled in this kind of inverted artist community that is hard to see from the twisty road. Not really SRE’s fault just is what it is. Sincerely highly recommend and our daughters were already asking to go back.
We stopped here after going to the forbidden caverns and it hit the spot. Whole family got what they were craving and our daughter couldn’t stop drooling over the cheese steak sandwich. All was delicious and the staff was so delightful! Absolutely worth it!
