Service was prompt and food was good. A little pricey, but anything in Downtown is going to be. Carafe of mimosas was great and cheap!
We had been contemplating eating here several times. It is a little pricey but how often do you really treat yourself? We all had the filet mignon. It was cooked perfectly, (it could have used more seasoning), but it was the most tender piece of meat we have ever had in any restaurant. I literally cut it with my fork, the sides were VERY good, we had the BEST seating in the house, directly over the river and the service was outstanding. We took this trip at the beginning of the week to avoid crowds, which was great. My husband about had a stroke when the bill came but he knew the prices before going, he just didn't add it all up in his head, LOL! I would highly recommend, it was not warm enough to sit outside but we had the most perfect seat inside.
Wow this place is truly phenomenal. It’s an old restaurant in the heart of town. It has changed hands since I ate there several years ago but the food is still just as great. The jalapeño egg rolls are quite literally one of the best things I have ever eaten. We got the 2 for one steak deal. Got a filet which was so tender. They do like to undercook a bit so if you like your steak a medium, order medium well and it will be perfect. But nevertheless it was amazing and totally worth a visit!!!
We had lunch there, in which was a great choice. Good food, good service, good portions, an overall great dining experience. Highly recommended place to eat!
I have been here several times without any complaint! The difference today is that there was something a little extra special about the level of customer service. Every worker we encountered was extremely nice and genuine. Thank you to each of the hard working employees at this restaurant who add a little extra to the wonderful experience! Know that your smiles are appreciated by this Ohio family!
The food and service were excellent. The one bad thing about our experience was that after seating us they sat a group of about 15 VERY LOUD people next to us which detracted from the whole experience.
My husband and I stopped in Gatlinburg as a halfway point during a road trip to NOLA, and we purposefully stayed at the Quality Inn next door so we could have easy access to Howard’s! We’ve eaten here several times before, and it’s always a great experience. Great food, staff and atmosphere. It’s the oldest restaurant in Gatlinburg for a reason, and it’s our favorite! Can’t wait for our next visit, thanks again for another wonderful meal!
The atmosphere, food, and service was top notch here! One of our favorite restaurants we ate at on our trip to Gatlinburg. Service was amazing. We learned that this is the oldest resturant in Gatlinburg and it use to be a grits mill. There is a small river that runs along it. We would definitely come here again.
First, I would highly recommend avoiding Gatlinburg, TN, during their high season. It gets very crowded along with long waits at area attractions and restaurants. Not to mention the crowded sidewalks, roadways. Our party of four adults had the Mountain Hamburgers. Their burgers are hand made, they were tasteful, juicy, outstanding overall. Great service provided by Sean our waiter. The restaurant has a Cozy atmosphere with a flowing stream (river) directly below the property and visible from the rear of the establishment.
We tried this resturant as it had been in business for so long, I had the Two Tenderloins wrapping in Bacon and my wife has the Grilled Trout ($65 total). Both were dry and tasteless. My vegetables were bland however she said her Baked Potato was delicious. I was so disappointed that the meal was not better as the view from out table of the creek flowing under the dining room was beautiful. Also it seems to be mostly be a “family style” resturant, meaning it is very, very noisy and crowded. I can’t really recommend this location with so many good dining options in town.
