We visited this restaurant after a long day of hiking and ordered a rack of ribs each. The ribs, especially with the sauce, was quite fire overall but could be more off-the-bone. We also thought the atmosphere and service were great. A good place with comfortable seating to come with a group of friends or family. On top of that, the prices were also decent. Would recommend!

Friendly and attentive server. Huge portions. Food was delicious and not salty. They give you complimentary biscuit and rolls. Brisket was wonderful and not too lean. You need to specify how you like your meats. The banana pudding was wonderful and enough to share with the whole table.

We went on a Sunday for lunch. There was no wait and we got to order quickly. The bread basket was amazing with three different kinds biscuits/muffins/rolls. The bbq was great, we will go back next time we are in town.

Food was good. Food came without butter for the potato and it took a fairly long time. Other that no complaints.

A staple every visit, we took my 87 year old Mother on the trip and she said she got tired of hearing from me how good they were… 1/2 slab for each of us, upgraded to the loaded baked potato and good ol’ Ma T finished her ribs before I did! LOL… Excellent and worth every penny! Wait staff I know is extremely busy, and this time around could have gone without being seated next to two tables and guy selling something- not timeshares- kinda annoying him talking about how great he is - just saying!

My husband and I were on a road trip and we stayed in Gatlinburg for a few nights. We had a late lunch at Calhoun's. I ordered a cheeseburger with fries and my husband ordered the pork plate with cole slaw. We split an appetizer of pretzels, cheese and hot mustard. The bbq sauce was really good. The pulled pork does not come with any bbq sauce on it but some one the side. The cheeseburger was big but good. The fries were standard.

If you've never been here, do yourself a favor. The food is delicious, the bartender makes the BEST drinks and they have great specials. After long days of hiking it's nice to sit at the bar and eat and have the bartender cater to our every whim. Seriously, she's that good... And funny. We have a blast here every time we go. There are always regulars at the bar or other vacationers willing to start up a chat. Dang it, now I'm craving their boneless wings and Bloody Mary's. ?

This was our second time at Calhouns. They have good food and the service is excellent. Their barbecue sauce is not a sweet sauce- it has some kind of alcohol in it but it’s not got a good flavor if you don’t prefer sweet. We both had baked potatoes that came out cold but the waitress immediately went back and returned with new ones that were hot. We didn’t try the ribs. Hubby had a burger and I had chicken tenders and both were good.

We had Trey Bland as our waiter and he was great. Made the experience even better than the food which was also good. Great barbecue.

We tried eating at Calhoun’s tonight. Firstly, we waited for 45 minutes to be seated, even though more than half of the tables were open. Another 50 minutes after we ordered we were told there’s 1 more order ahead of ours before our food will be ready. We left hungry. I totally would NOT recommend coming here.
