Always packed and always good. Smokey open pit style barbecue. Beans are awesome as are the ho cakes. Pulled pork always a winner. Highly recommend

Been a few years, but it’s even better than ever. Arrived at 2:00 on a Saturday and the people just kept on piling in. Ribs, deviled eggs, onion rings, hoecakes, and no room for desert. Good thing I don’t live nearby I’d be here every week. My partner had the BBQ plate and rated it a 10. I posted a picture of my pile of bones as my proof of how good it is. Enjoy.
Our waitress Rhonda was a gem. The food was very good. It was an extremely long wait this particular day. We had time not too big of a deal. Understaffed was their issue. The sides were a lot smaller than I ever expected. All in all it wasn't horrible. But I'd still recommend it to others.
We dined here on Saturday with a party of 4 adults. The food was exceptional! If you like ribs he ordered a half rack and said they were delicious and about the size of a full rack! I got the BBQ plate with two sides and the others got the burgers which are huge! You won’t leave hungry. The drinks come in quart size jars and they make sure you don’t run out. The prices are super cheap also. You will spend more at fast food for sure
The ribs were cooked perfectly. The Cole slaw is the best I’ve ever had. The baked beans were seasoned perfectly. A go to place in Middle Tenn for great Q.
Got to the restaurant at 5 on a Friday night. Difficulty finding parking but patience paid off. We were told 45 minutes which wound up being an hour. It took almost another hour to get our food. Obviously this place has very loyal customers. The patrons are definitely on tHe older side. Prices are very cheap and credit cards are not accepted. The half slab of ribs was enormous with lots of meat and little fat. Some of the best ribs I have tasted. Fried catfish was crunchy on the outside, tender on the inside. Deviled eggs and pulled pork also excellent. No alcohol is served. Ambiance is casual and crowded—at first I thought it was counter service but table service was provided. Recommend getting the side salad as one of your sides as it helps prevent starvation as you are waiting for your food.

I finally made it to Top Hog, to try out this food that everyone in America brags about! I must say, I was NOT disappointed! The sides were simply delish and had the best flavor! We did have to wait a little bit and there is not a lot of room to be able to spread out. We did feel a bit rushed, because of how many people were standing on top of each other, waiting to be seated or pick up to-go orders. With that being said, there is a REASON why people are piled up everywhere...the food is worth it. Great service with smiles and their barbecue will melt in your mouth!
mmmmmm....their catfish is awesome. We normally get barbecue and go home. Today we stopped in. I will definitely be back!!
