I love Sperry's. We go there a couple of times a year. They have great food and great service. I love the atmosphere. We went there last night and I had the Halibut. It was outstanding. I had carrot cake and coffee for dessert, both were great. If I had to have any complaints it would be that the Halibut didn't come with anything. It was on the special menu but didn't come with any sides or anything. The waiter did tell me this and asked is I wanted to order a side though. For the price I would have liked to have seen some rice or veggie come with it. I usually order the steak. They have great steaks! I definitely would recommend Sperry's if you haven't tried it yet. Great food, great service, and even better atmosphere.
Love this place
What a great place for dinner. Our waiter Billy was really knowledgeable and friendly. The seafood tower was delicious.
While ambiance and level of service is above the typical modern metro they were short staffed and often after food was delivered the follow up was sketchy. What was my biggest disappointment, given they are highly rated for their prime rib, it was less than expected. Adequate quantity, but lacking given my reservation request. For me a true prime rib is bone in and surrounding meats and fats left intact. Having bone in assures moisture and full flavor. What I got was in my book rib eye roast. No running juices, and something between choice and select. It was a good piece of meat trimmed of fat and the delicious mixture of meat and fat, and not rare+ as ordered (More medium than rare). Am I fussy? I could go on, but less than expectations always diminishes taste and enjoyment.
Sperry’s was the perfect choice for my daughter’s birthday/engagement celebration!! The food was outstanding! I had the escargot for my appetizer. The garlic butter sauce was delicious. The wedge salad and Caesar salads were excellent, and the steaks were cooked to a perfect medium. David, our server, made the evening even more special! He was so personable as well as efficient. We had plenty of time between courses to enjoy the evening, but the food came out at just the right time. To top it off, David made a wonderful table side “Bananas Foster” presentation! We’ve ordered it many times at fine dining restaurants, and this was one of the best ever!! If you’re looking for a special place to celebrate, Sperry’s is a great choice!
This was our first time in Sperrys and we went to celebrate my wife's birthday as a family.Let me start by saying, the food was very good. The ribeye was better than average. The Lobster tail was good. They have a great salad bar and the items were extremely fresh. The calamari was the best I've had in a ling time anywhere. The shoestring fries and the sweet potato fries were great...and the twice baked potato was very good. The only food complaint was the Tuna sashimi which was not only cooled, but way overcooked. So, since they are required to sear it, it tells me it is not sashimi grade in the first place. ?The main issue is that it's very crowded, loud, and the lighting is dim. So, it's hard to have any conversation with your table or the wait staff. We were seated exactly at the time reserved. But, they took us to the worst table in the place. It was next to the entry to the restroom hall, and sandwiched between a wall and a serving area. So, on top of being loud, we were in a heavy traffic lane. The old drunk people at the next table had no concept of the voice volume. We asked to be seated elsewhere when we first saw the table and were given on 1 option a dew feet away on the same walkway. Even though I could see other rooms and empty tables, I was told that they were promised to the regulars who require specific tables when dining in. So, if you are a new customer or just regular folks...you take what you get. Just be ware.I'll probably go back for the calamari, fries, and salad bar alone. But I'll try to request a quiet table next time.
Great place to go! Had a couple of not so good visits but this one was great, server was amazing, and food was delish!
Great place, great food, love all the beautiful art on the walls
We were prepared not to like this place, but had a gift certificate to burn, and we were in Cool Springs for the afternoon. The restaurant 'reads' like a typical older steakhouse: dark interior, lots of foo-foo stuff on the walls, ornate furniture. The place was filled with not only the expected retirees, but plenty of families, which was good to see. We were shown to our table quickly and our service was fantastic, no complaints whatsoever. The standouts, however, have to be the food. We love a good steak, and try steakhouses when we travel (which is fairly frequently) and we will do anything to avoid downtown Nashville (and I do mean ANYTHING!), so this was a very nice surprise for us. I had the filet mignon, husband had something else, bone in, I believe, and they were both spot on. Cooked exactly right, melt in your mouth goodness. The salad bar - a salad bar!! Such a treat!! - is very good, as well. My steak had the crab topping, and it complimented the steak perfectly. It was just great steak. Give this place a try - well worth it, I promise you! - we will be back soon.
Best steak in town. Great for a treat during the week. Friendly staff
