Stood in line at the drive through for 23 minutes. Got home and opened my meal to find no biscuits or BBQ sauce. Definitely not worth the price or the tip I left at $23.
Great ,fast service. They bring warm mini-muffins to you immediately. Large servings
Friendly service. Everything was amazing
Employees didn’t want to get counter and had poor attitude won’t be back. No ribs available and service was slow. Poor quality and service. Thx
Somewhat disappointing. We ordered both kinds of ribs for takeout, found both to be somewhat tough and dried out. It seemed like they were overcooked.
Very friendly staff and service was great
I called to confirm that 10 people could be seated together and was told that was acceptable but no more than 10. We arrived at 11:30 and only needed a table for 8and were told by the hostess that their policy had changed (overnight). Seeing a crowded room of diners elbow-to-elbow I asked how they were able to sit together and was told that the CEO was hosting 30 female volleyball players. We were told that we would have to split our group of 8 because each restaurant was allowed only one table of ten and "first come, first served" were the volleyballs players who took the table for 10 . We would have be seated at two sets of two tables pushed together. I asked if all four tables could be pushed together with two diners on each side to accommodate all 8 of us around the table and was told that we would not be socially distancing and the restaurant could be closed. It seems if you are special or are the CEO, Jim and Nick's will seat you and violate their own rules of seating. Aside from the seating, the bbq had gristle and bones almost as if they were scraps. One dining companion wasn't bothered so much by the gristle, but surprised by the the bones. (I didn't eat the sandwich until I came home, otherwise I would have sent it back). A friend said that the quality of Jim and Nick's had gone down and the bbq at the Charlotte Pike location had gristle and bone. Seating aside, we won't be returning.
Great food and great service!
That smoker churning out delicious smells at Jim ‘N Nick’s might be wonderful, but not all barbecue is created equally. The restaurant chain located in the heart of pulled pork country has been merely average on my every visit, never extraordinary. When you’ve eaten brisket in Texas, or even at local favorites like Martin’s or Edley’s, you set a certain gold standard for your palate that’s tough to measure up to for other establishments. And the brisket at any Jim ‘N Nick’s location is simply substandard. The flavor is not right, even though the tenderness is. In Tennessee and North Carolina, you’d better get your pulled pork right, just like brisket in Texas, or the ribs in Memphis and Kansas City. But again, the texture of the pork is there, the flavor is not. It’s just not good barbecue. It’s only passable. The bread is pretty good, the sides are okay, but you’d be better off finding another local spot for much better meat. There are many to choose from.
Had dinner here with family while visiting. The BBQ was good. The ribs had a good taste but didn’t quite fall off the bone. The Mac and cheese was delicious but my favorite was the cheddar biscuits! They were so amazing we ate them all and forgot to take a picture. Our server said everything is made from scratch. Definitely would return again if we are in the area.
