Best service and phenomenal food! My boyfriend and I wanted to try something different for a date night and we were so impressed. Clean, beautifully decorated restaurant. The servers were polished and exceptionally helpful especially since we were not as familiar with some of the Indian dishes. We decided on the sampler dinner for two and over ate because the food was so good! We will be back and have already told friends to go too!
By sheer luck I was able to sneak out of work and lunch at House of India in a small mall-strip. It was WELL worth it. The buffet looks small at first glance but it isn't; it's just an efficient use of space. Maybe it looks small because it's against the wall and doesn't allow partaking from both sides, but stand in line for a minute and all will be revealed. Food was outstanding including a dish or two I hadn't seen before in other Indian restaurants, and all of it was excellent. If you're in the area this is a no-brainer.
This restaurant is truly worthy of 5 stars. From the enthusiastic immediate greeting and seating at a beautiful table to the quick delivery of crispy pappadum with a tray of four exquisitely prepared relish toppings. All mgrs and waiters were on full attention and working smoothly as a team to make sure all tables were being taken care of.Our waiter was patient and helpful in our spice level selection for the butter chicken and lamb madras. It was so perfect, tender, and flavorful....and Abundant! We were so full. And then they brought out the complimentary chilled rice pudding ramekins!Everyone we saw eating there was having a great experience.Such a perfect dinner.Bahut achchha!!!

We had a large party with several allergies. Our servers were kind and accommodating for a large, tough crowd of different allergies. The food was excellent. If you are unsure what to get, just ask for recommendations, they are so nice. My parents have been to India and bonded with the server over descriptions of their visit to the pink city, since he had not been able to visit it yet. I am excited to come to the lunch buffet so I can sample more of their great cuisine and broaden my knowledge of Indian food.
We got the Malai Kofta and it was amazing. Plus, our waiter was extremely nice and gave me flowers when we left. I will definitely be coming back… maybe even once a week
So, SO YUM!! After looking for a really stellar Indian Restaurant for a while, we found it!!! My husband is gluten free (celiac) and had no problems - they had great options! This family run restaurant is a gem!! Oh! And, at Sanaa in D*sney World they make this amazing toasted (fried) paneer tomato soup - the tomato soup here is even BETTER! Can't wait to come back!
Of course Mother's Day is going to be busy at a nice restaurant. We were there early to avoid the madness of larger groups and things started well. Appetizer was delicious...and then the meal began trickling-in with a serving every 15+ minutes or so. Wait staff was overwhelmed with large groups and we were not offered refills on drinks until we'd been there for 45+ minutes and that was the only return visit by the staff until time for the bill. Once requested, it was another 10 minutes before the bill arrived. We ordered 'mild' dishes and most were well prepared and well presented, except for the vegetables that were so spicy neither of us enjoyed them. I'm sure that had we been given the chance to correct that issue, things would have been better. Getting the attention of the wait staff when large groups were seated (and demanding attention) just did not happen. Serving sizes are ample. You are not likely to leave the restaurant hungry. The dishes are authentic and intended to be served in a timely fashion...that part made our evening less enjoyable. I know from other reviews that House of India can do better. We will come back, but I doubt that we'll try again on any sort of holiday.
I have been to Indian food places in over 9 states in the US, and this restaurant has been the best Indian place I've been to so far. The buffet is spectacular, and the food here has great flavourful taste without being too spicy or oily. The entire restaurant is extremely clean with a cozy ambiance, the service is amazing and the staff are very welcoming. The owner personally took his time to talk to us, he was very kind and had a lot of stories to share.Do visit if you want to try authentic Indian food in Nashville!
