This is the absolute cutest place I've ever eaten breakfast! We knew we were in the right place when we saw the "Community Table of Wisdom", which was also labeled the "Grumpy Old Men"'s table. The staff was incredibly helpful as we were out-of-towners and had no idea what to order. Our server was so helpful that she brought us just about every kind of sauce/topping you can imagine. I can't find the name of what I ordered for breakfast, but it contained a shredded biscuit, bacon, grits, cheese, poached eggs and came with tomato gravy. I was skeptical at first just because I had no idea what in the world tomato gravy is. Don't be skeptical! Just try it! Our server brought me a side of it along with regular sausage gravy in case I didn't like it, but I absolutely loved it! We had no wait at all when we got there and we would visit again in a heartbeat if we found ourselves in the area again. I highly recommend the Country Boy!
Been going since early 1970s and this change in ownership is not what made Country Boy a place to go.Good food, service and a community feeling is gone and Menu changed to BBB . Gone are fried green tomatoes, country ham and many other favorites. Today we gave it a 3rd chance, didn’t even have the “daily special”; guess that’s why it was empty at noon. We’ll go to Fox& Locke from now on.
After reading all the good reviews I was ready to have the breakfast of my dreams. We'll I guess my dream didn't come true but the food was fine. If staying in Leipers Fork you don't have a lot of options for dining and the place does get very busy so go early. I ordered the pancakes with sausage and wife had the French toast. The pancakes (three large) were fine, nothing really special. The sausage just didn't suit me taste. Should have gone with the French toast as it was much better. Service was good.
The food was mediocre at best. I am a local who used to eat at The Country Boy on a weekly basis with my family. Since BBB took over there have been changes put into place that we haven’t liked. First, the menu was changed and some our favorite foods were eliminated. They should keep in mind that not everyone wants either breakfast or a burger for lunch. I called on Monday to make sure they still had daily specials like fried chicken for today and was told that they did. When I tried to order today I was told the menu is changing again and fried chicken was not available. My son and I have decided that was our last visit to what used to be a family favorite! I’m sure the tourists will like it since they have no frame of reference.
I was so excited to eat here as I’ve heard great things. It took an extended amount of time to be seated and once we were finally at a table, our server was not attentive. I ordered an omelette and specified to our server that I have a dairy allergy and asked for no cheese whatsoever. When my meal came out, there was cheese on it. I notified my server and she returned the same plate with the cheese merely scraped off. I couldn’t even eat my meal. Will not be returning.
Me and my family are from California and came specifically for the country boy. It’s not the country boy. It’s the big BAD breakfast. Food was terrible, no one was personable. Was sitting at the bar and saw someone plate my food with bare hands and no gloves. I didn’t even want to eat my food. No one seemed to care. After being here I won’t be back. It’s not worth the trip and it’s NOT the country boy. Save your time and your money.
I’ll start off saying the food was nothing more than okay. If you like eating in a place with air conditioning DO NOT go here, the temp was 84 degrees inside the building and I was sweating so bad I could hardly eat, along with that the waiter would leave us without refreshments over and over. Also there is zero diversity in staff, everyone is white as clouds. Wouldn’t recommend.
The food was terrible. My eggs had a terrible rotten smell. The gravy was not good, the has-brown casserole potatoes were still crunchy. My husband and I agreed we should have gone to the place across the street instead. I was so bummed as I had always wanted to eat here. Won't be back.
Oh my gosh, the food was so tasty! The French toast, pancakes, and potatoes were cooked and flavored superbly. Our server Nadia was amazing! 10/10 will be back for thirds!
Burger was good, tots were better! Great place to ride the motorcycle to on a nice weekend.
