As we were traveling across the Country on a motorcycle we decided TN BBQ would make a great early dinner before traveling any further. We did an internet search for what was in the area and decided on the Flying Pig that was about 8 miles from our location. The restaurant was a tad difficult to find because there was extensive road work with blocked and one way streets in the area but we located it in the strip mall next to a medical walk-in clinic. The establishment was very nice, appeared very clean, and the food was very, very good; maybe not the best we ever had but we'll above the average. If we have any complaint, it's that our order taker seemed to have no interpersonal communication skills and seemingly did not really care to interact with us which made the ordering experience at an unfamiliar establishment a bit uncomfortable. However, the food we enjoyed made that uncomfortable interaction a bit easier to swallow. One thing traveling this Country has taught us these last few years is that good employees, with a favorable personality and people skills seem to have become a rare event in every industry in the good ol' USA. But I guess that's what happens when employers can't find anyone to fill empty positions... they're forced to take whoever they can get. It's a sad, difficult, and complicated Country we now live in....
Service was fantastic and quick, then the food was delicious! We bought the family pack for our family of 6 (4 little kids) and only ate a little over half of it - plenty to save for my husband’s midnight fourth meal. Prices were excellent too.
Bbq pork samwhich was good and the baked beans were very sweet, almost to sweet. Staff was friendly and the restaurant was very clean.
I called at 6:30 am to order wings. 4 hours before they open and he answered and took my order. (I was just saving the number to my phone for later) the wings are AMAZING! And they met me at the door so I didn't have to wake my sleeping baby! Food customer service convenience price... ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
We cannot say enough wonderful things about The Flying Pig! We recently had them cater two large-scale events (150+ppl) for us and they wowed us both times! The owner, Kelly, handled every detail himself (including delivery) and our food arrived HOT and perfectly prepared. And despite food shortages and skyrocketing pricing, he kept his prices absurdly affordable which allowed us to host our very crucial annual fundraisers. All of our guests literally raved about the quality of the food at each event, and that's the ultimate mark of a great caterer. We will be using Kelly Shepherd and The Flying Pig for as long as we are hosting dinners!
The food was good and service was good. Ribs were not exactly fall off the bone but still delicious. Mac and cheese was good and beans were above average. Very friendly staff.
By chance we stopped by for lunch. The bbq NACHOS were so good. It was a LOT of food for the price. I love the sweet bbq sauce. Looking forward to trying the ribs. Just wished they were open on Sundays ? We will be back!
We ordered bbq for an event we were having. It was amazing and Kelly was extremely helpful and courteous!! We wasn’t sure what the weather was going to do (snow) so he offered to bring it to me wherever if he closed earlier than I needed it!! Will definitely be going here for future events. I already eat lunch there ALOT LOL. Thanks again for great service and food. Highly recommended!!!
Good food, and a great price. Service was prompt and courteous. Very clean dining area, the decor was very laid back and simple, and added a lot to the atmosphere. Restroom was very clean as well. I really enjoyed my dinner, and plan to go back very soon.
The ribs fell off the bone. Then I realize there was an awful lot of fat. But ribs without fat has no taste. People were lovely the place is clean. Was lucky to catch it because of the time difference as I crossed over the border right there in Crossville. Recommend the place to everybody
