This is a ripoff! Had to order in drive thru, because they was short handed. I ordered the #8 with fries and Mac n cheese. It took about 20 minutes to get my food. Cost $10.51. then 30 minute drive home and opened up the box TN find this joke! When you go through this much of a hassle and then when you finally get to sit down to eat and they give you not even a hand full of fries!! After the wait, the cost, and everything and they still skimp! Really!!I do not recommend this Captain D's.
Don't eat captain D'S much and this experience wasn't a very good one. Family wanted and was excited to have fish for dinner ordered online choose sides. Ordering experience was flawless. My wife picked up drove 5 min home that's when experience went bad! Fish was super crispy like either cooked to long or oil was bad. But seemed way over cooked. Fillers were super thin barely any meat on them. Fries were cold and soggy along with the fried okra only thing that was good out of for entire family feast was the shrimp. WAS SO DISSATISFIED AND DISAPOINTED. I mean I understand some things but it seems like the quality went out the window this go around. I will definitely be checking my order before I leave next time . When u spend over $40 in a restaurant and quality is terrible you wonder if you should take your hard earned $$$ someplace else. Sorry captain not the best this time!!
I’ve been dining in the Cookeville restaurant for many years. The food has previously been decent but yesterday the fish was not cooked fully and the taste was bad. Over $10 for a 2 piece dinner and small drink.

My town lost its Cap'n D's a few years back, so travelling through, I had to satisfy the yen. Order taken with no problem, fountain in good shape for beverages, and then there was the usual expected wait for truly hot fried fish and, unless you get lucky, soggy fries. It's a tradition! If I had the yen for Cap'n D's, I could get it satisfied here with no complaint.
Nice staff and friendly! All my food was cooked perfect, came out quick, and correct! I'll be back and glad they made it through the pandemic when Long Johns didn't. ??♀️
There was kids behind counter that didn't work there. Girls going to bathroom multiple times. Took cleaning supplies in there an never brought out. Kids off street coming in for bathroom an staff that had Capt D sweet shirt on was talking to them. Employees I assume we're standing at drink machine talking about other things that didn't need to be talked about in front of customer. Bugs crawling on the table. People behind counter showing skin in tank top. Floors an tables dirty. No thank yous no come back. Nothing was filled and was nasty looking. Dirty clothes on employees like they was working on cars and hanging out behind the counter. We waited over 20 mins for our food finally went up there and it was sitting on counter while the employees was talking about plans for afterwork. I have been a manager for Captain D's and nothing here at the Cookeville, TN is up to standard. This was a very disappointing experience.
The fries were awful. The prices are ridiculous regardless of how many people you are feeding, the deals don’t seem like deals anymore. It definitely wasn’t worth what I paid for a family chicken deal. Maybe if I have a coupon I would go back but that’s about the only way. #alotofgreaseforalotofminey
the only cups they have is Water cups the drinks were horrible
