Gave it a 1 star for friendly server. The food was precooked. Ordered hot cake & eggs and sausage. Sausage frozen Pattie’s, served cold inside. Hotcake made sometime earlier and kept under heat lamp. Eggs were fine. Spouse ordered biscuits & gravy. Biscuits frozen and cooked been cooked for awhile gravy was hot.
This place is nice! We were returning home to Alabama from a trip to The Ark Encounter in Kentucky and we stopped at Stan's for lunch. I was intrigued when I saw that they'd been in business since 1947. They were busy, so it took a while, but it was well worth it. The food was very good and shopping the gift shop was fun, too. I highly recommend Stan's in Columbia, Tennessee.
Ok where do I start on this review! I travel from Kentucky to Alabama 1 month in each state back and forth. I have done this for the past year and a half now and have wanted to make Stan’s country restaurant a resting point for me at some point. Well May 27th 2022 was the day I finally made that stop and it was around Noon. So on to the review the store front which is also a gas station looks great. Very clean nice employee (1) for the station part, all though it’s very cluttered from merchandise for souvenirs and snacking. The restaurant part is nicely decorated kinda reminds me of a Cracker Barrel atmosphere plenty of seating tables and booths. They lack employees had two servers and they were not that busy maybe 5 tables out of 20 were filled. The floor was nasty had to walk around food and stickiness, tables were clean but like half attempted. One waitress seemed very irritated that she was even there but luckily mine was in a good mood. I ordered the Meat Loaf dinner with 2 sides and a roll sweet tea to drink. The tea was very good. Meatloaf was very dense and hard crust on bottom and the taste was just bland. Mac n cheese had no taste added salt just to help that out and the mashed potatoes and gravy just straight up tasted like broccoli. I was very displeased with my meal but I did not complain to anyone as it was my choice to stop there for my meal. Now this is not to say any of there other food isn’t good it may be and to each there own on quality and taste of their food. This is strictly my own opinion. I will not stop there again unless I need fuel for my travels which I usually don’t. I hope this is helpful to someone curious about this place as I was. The meal with drink was $17.00 and I left a $3.00 tip
We stopped by to eat, as Stan's was close to our hotel. The food was good but the service was not. The waitress acted like she did not want to be there and she was not helpful.
I can’t comment on the food or the service because we got neither. Most tables were empty or dirty no one brought us a menu or anything. As we walked out an employee said “sorry” as she turned and walked away
Waitress was extremely slow. Brought our food then she never came back to the table. We had to get another waitress to even get out ticket. Over 1.25hrs. The food was decent. The $5 shake was a cup of milk about 8 oz.
The gas station machine locked our credit card into the machine. After 40 mjnutes, the owner was called and his ONLY response was to cancel our credit card and leave it in the machine!! I cannot believe the lack of care or concern about the situation. I would have only given 1 star, but the employees did try to help, especially Rose.
