Do you like food? Do you like good people? If so this is the place for you. Even if you don't like people, the food is amazing. Seriously homemade, seriously delicious. Plus that real deal creole welcome everytime you walk in the door. I can't recommend this place enough. She keeps telling me about leftovers but I haven't experienced it yet. You know everything is better after a night of rest.
I have been looking for a good gumbo here in the area before driving to Nashville to get it. I googled & came across Mama Sucre’. The reviews were pretty good so I decided to try the gumbo last Saturday. I am from Shreveport, Louisiana so I know what a good gumbo looks & taste like. The color threw me off because it was light & it was not soupy like I know it to be. But I will say that I was pleasantly surprised! It was very good & I will definitely return in the future!
We at Electronics Repair Team had a client highly suggest this restaurant . I lived in various parts of Louisiana for a couple years . I gained 65 lbs living there because the food was to die for lol . This establishment represents thier brand well . We ordered two days in a row , first the shrimp po boy , it was loaded with shrimp and was prepared great as well as the Jumbalaya side. Next day we ordered the gumbo .......it was amazing except I would have liked more meat and vegetables vs the rice portion for the price.** Special mentions I called and got no answer 20 minutes till closing on the first order ......they texted me back in a few minutes, took my order with a smile . Second order it was raining like cats and dogs , I ordered my pickup gumbo and they saw me coming and asked me to pull up to the door and she ran my order out personally! It might be a little pricey but I was highly impressed! **
Went for a late lunch today. Po Boys and red beans & rice were delicious! Sat & talked with the owner for a while,couldn’t be nicer ppl & a more comfortable atmosphere. Definitely going back.

Mama Sucre’s is the real deal!!!! My husband and I lived in Louisiana (Covington to be exact) for about 3 years before making our way to Columbia, TN. Thats most definitely long enough to know what good Louisiana Cajun cookin is and is not. Absolutely delicious!!! I had the fried green tomato Po’boy absolutely incredible the remoulade sauce transported me back to Louisiana. My husband had the fried catfish Po’Boy and he was so happy!! We shared crawfish mac n cheese, chicken & sausage gumbo and beignets. Beignets are fried dough but again if you’ve spent anytime in Louisiana you know the perfect beignet is soft in the middle with a little crunch to the edges and smothered in powdered sugar. Everything we had tasted homemade. I would much rather give my money and support for a small business that puts so much thought, love and care into products and services. That’s exactly what you get at Mama Sucre’s a truly authentic Louisiana homemade experience. I’ve also included some photos of the inside, it’s very much a NOLA vibe with the artwork, colors and decor. Highly recommend!!
Perfect out of the way spot for a date. Friendly staff. Great authentic Cajun food. Can’t say enough about it. Very cool place and I can’t wait to go back!
The seafood gumbo was the best I’ve ever had! And you can’t beat the beignets. They are always delicious.
I work here, and enjoy every second of it. Even if i did not work here, I would definitely be a regular. The owner makes amazing food everyday, and we make beignets fresh to order. The community table is awesome, 9 times out of 10 you will meet someone new!
