Coming all the way from New Mexico the food was exactly like home. Authentic, spicy and tasty. The food was delicious and was given as if we were home in New Mexico. Service was top notch! This place is the best of the best in Tennessee! Highly recommended.
The old idiom ‘good things come in small packages’ has been applied to countless things over the years, from movies to jewelry to compact sports cars. I am unsure whether or not the adage has yet been applied a taco shop; in the event that it hasn’t, I’d like to propose that Los Potros is the threshold for which the saying needs to be applied. Don’t let the barebones aesthetic fool you – just because the restaurant is fairly small, non-descript, offset from the main-road, and indoor seating is scarce, doesn’t mean you aren’t in for some of the best, authentic Jalisco style Mexican food in Columbia.Begin your journey to culinary bliss by calling in an order to go, or by ‘dining-in’ at the adjacent picnic tables under the metal awning. The menu offerings run the gamut from tacos to tortas, to burritos, sopas, combination plates, and more. Occasionally, patrons are graced with new and limited-time menu additions such as the ridiculously delicious birria tacos, ridiculously delicious hot Cheetos burritos, pozole, and more. Everything is crafted in-house with concurrent nods to both authenticity and depth of flavor. They have an array of drink options including several variants of the ubiquitous fruit-flavored soda of taco lovers everywhere, Jarritos.Everything that Los Potros lacks due to its size constraints (increased seating capacity, liquor/alcoholic beverages) is more than atoned for by the product they put on the plate for their customers.
The best street tacos I've found since moving from California!!!
I can only speak to the authentic tacos, but those were delicious and very reasonably priced. Had the chicken, pastor, and barbacoa and all 3 had great flavor. Also good hot sauce and Verde salsa. Will definitely be back when I'm craving real tacos. The only thing to be aware of is there is no inside seating, only a few picnic tables outside to sit at.
Never had authentic street tacos this good before I found Los Potros. Delicious and the service is great!
Small but good place to enjoy Mexican food. They prepare it fresh and authentic. Order can be customized and they make sure to take care of you with smile. The person returned back apologizing that she didn’t tell us to enjoy the meal after handing the box over to us. Must try.
The food is always on point!! The best ingredient's and oh so fresh! Claudia is so kind and willing to give food suggestion's. Our office frequents often.
Waited over 30 min for our food. No inside seating.
A little nice shack with no inside seating claiming SoCal Style Mexican. While the food tasted good, I can't recommend. Why you ask? I did get a stomach ache from it that evening but the whole experience was not palatable.Waiting in our vehicle for over 25 mins is not the worst but I ordered a 3 taco plate and even went with her recommendation on one of the meat selections for the tacos that is not even on the menu but what she didn't tell us, there is a fee included if you choose different meat choices for your taco plate, of which Pork was not ready for another hour (its 1 in the afternoon and they were not busy on a rainy day).If they're claiming SoCal, no one charges a "multiple meat" fee in California on any 2/3/4 Taco plate when you mix tacos. How do I know? Because we're from Southern California. It's probably something she should have notified the customer upfront, even if it's just a $1.18 fee.Furthermore, she hands the iPad and it offers you, the customer, an option to provide a tip on take out. Not unreasonable, so I add 15% but what I didn't know until i checked my emailed receipt was there's also another fee, a $.50 take out order fee!Really?!? Never seen that before in California!Probably wouldn't have added a tip if I knew there was a take out fee.Technically, everyone buying would have to "take out" their meals since there's no inside seating. Finally, the tip should be based on the "subtotal", never on the tax as they did:Subtotal of $13.65 at 15% = $2.05, BUT including the tax of $1.33 = $2.25.Hmmm, another $.20 extra fee?Unnecessary fees= $1.88. Not going to break the bank, but it does add up!
Hands down the best tacos in Middle Tennessee, maybe even this side of the Mississippi.
