Catfish plate is awesome! Laid back atmosphere, friendly staff, and usually good music playing. People love the pineapple tea.
We had the catfish dinner and pineapple tea. Excellent food!! Nothing was greasy and the hush puppies were homemade. We will definitely come back here.
Hidden gem. My co workers told me about this place so we tried a take out order. We had the catfish with okra and the Gumbo. The okra is great everything was hot and fresh. Love the food. Very good prices and the portions large.
always friendly service. Always checking on you and asking how food was. Food was delicious. We stopped on Soul Food Sunday. All I can say is wow. Highly recommend. But SFS is only the first Sunday of the month. I think it should be every week. Haha
Took a chance on this place because of the picture of the Philly on door dash. I am SO glad I did! Me and hubby got 2 phillys with extra cheese and got them dipped ? I am telling yall it was so good I could eat literally 20 of these sandwiches! Very tender meat, very fresh tasting! Absolutely in LOVE!!! New Friday night tradition!
The only reason we chose to try this place out for the 1st time was the Groupon($10 for $20 worth of food) I had bought. When we arrived, there was a sign on the door saying they didn't accept Groupon anymore. I told man up front that was the reasoning we came. He explained issues b/t Groupon & spoony's... not my fault though. I feel he should have honored it or at least given some type of discount. But that's just my thinking as a business owner also. Our dishes did come with alot of food. My husband liked his; I liked the hush puppies & sweet tea.
My experience was horrible. I had a doordash for a sandwich and fries. Took them over 35 min ,all this and only one customer was ahead of me. They were very rude and not helpful at all. I will never eat or accept a doordash from this place ever again
We made a last minute decision to stop in and give Spoony’s a try. The restaurant was in and old building but we found the seating area to be very clean and tidy. It was bright outside but the inside was a bit too dimly lit for my liking. The server was very friendly and helpful. The menu was fairly short but the offerings were from a very good selection of food types. It seems the food is cooked to order because of the wait time but it arrived piping hot and very delicious! We will be back to try something new again very soon.
The service was great, the lighting is alittle dim but the food was amazing! Had the BQQ plate, it was delicious! And there fried okra is lip smacking good
Excellent gumbo on a cold day. Just the right amount of spice. The pineapple sweet tea was new to me but very good. I'll definitely be coming back to try more of their menu.
