If I could do no stars I would. Service absolutely terrible. Ordered our food it wasn’t right, when we asked the server about it her excuse was that’s how it normally is and oh by the way welcome to Gondolier like they accept it being wrong. Found hair in my food when I asked for a new dish it took 45 mins to remake chicken Alfredo don’t know how. We asked for feta cheese in our salads it was left out. Had to play hide and seek with our server anytime something was needed. Confronted the manager when paying and he lost his mind when I told him our visit was garbage and nothing was correct. The owner likes to yell at everyone in front of customers. They told me it’s been open for 50 years I think it’s time to retire and call it a day. Growing up this was the place to go but recently it has desperately gone downhill. Do not recommend eating here unless you wanna be belittled and listen to the owner chew out his employees!
Worst restaurant experience we have ever had. Owner is terrible. As soon as we arrived he argued/yelled at me ab our reservations. We waited 40 mins to get seated. Then waited an hour and half for food to only get some of the items. Our children’s pizza arrived ab 40-45 after everyone else’s food arrived. When I got the check we were charged full price for pizza. I confronted the owner and he began to yell at me. Told me I knew nothing and he would not give discount. I gave him my money and he continued to scream at me. Do not go to the restaurant. Food is terrible and owner is a terrible man!!!
Having had a wonderful eating experience at a Gondolier restaurant near Cumberland Gap, Tennesse, we stopped at this one in Cleveland, Tennesse, on our way to vacation in the Florida panhandle. There is no comparison. The staff was not as cheerful and attentive, and the food did not approach that of the previous stop at the other location mentioned. I ordered spaghetti with meat sauce and my wife ordered lasagna. The sauce was dark and overcooked, with a bitter taste. Neither of us enjoyed our meals. Lasagna usually comes with several layers standing on the plate, but this was flat with the horrid sauce smothering it. It was the same sauce used for the spaghetti and was not good at all.
When we arrived, there were only a few customers. We were seated right away and our order was taken. 30 minutes later, a lot of people had come in, ordered, and were starting to get their food. We had yet to even get our salads. After about 45 minutes, we finally got salads which were wrong. After well over an hour, we asked for a check for the salads and drink so we could just leave. The waitress was a little short and said our food was being plated as we speak (she had said that twice already). We asked to just have our check to go. She gave us a check for the entire meal we ordered! When my husband got to the register to pay, they argued with him because he was only going to pay for the salads saying our food was ready. The entire time waiting, it was impossible to get our waitress’ attention! We won’t be back.
Food was terrible made me sick for days. Never again. The garlic bread was like chewing on a rubber band, Chicken Parm had a funny taste NOT ITALIAN WHATSOEVER. ?
My wife and I went here on the recommendation of numerous people ... and regret it. We ordered it as take out. I ordered an Italian steak sandwich and my wife ordered chicken parm. The garlic bread in her dish was like rubber. The chicken parmesean was spicy and had a peculiar spice flavor she could not describe. But it was definately not Italian spices.My bread on my steak sandwich was so tough I could barely chew it. The steak was not rib eye as the menu said but was some tough shredded cut of meat that did not even remind me of an Italian steak.We were very disappointed with the food and we will not be returning to the Gondolier.
All of our food was very good and the prices just can't be beat. Very solid dining experience! Thank you! Our server was brand new but very sweet.
We waited an hour an walked out , a waiter came over to help since we been sitting there an our waitress finally came back came over and rudely told him it's her table . He later told us he was sorry that she is a rude to all the customers .. and the final straw was waiting 15 mins on lemons .. we paid for the drinks an left . If we had the guy as a waited we would have definitely loved staying. Will come back but will definitely avoid that particular waitress.
I will never eat there again. The food and service were excellent. The older gentleman yelling at the staff was enough to ruin your appetite. What should have been done behind closed doors was done publicly. And it was nonstop. Literally,my whole time there I had to listen to him berate the staff. Very unprofessional. Sad, considering the wait staff and food are worth eating there.
Lovely family themed restaurant. My family of 5 loves their food. My husband orders something different every time and has yet to find something he doesn't like. The staff are very kind and understanding, they dont make you feel rushed.Highly recommend!!
