First time and last time. I've lived in Texas for 5 years and tried plenty of BBQ while I was there and this ain't it. Excluding that they butched half my order and forgot one of my sandwiches, the taste was just ok. The "chili" was pretty much just brisket and beans. The chili mac was just a tiny amount of Mac at the bottom of mostly "chili". And even the single pulled pork sandwich I got was just a couple pieces of pork on some bread. Honestly, I can't justify the cost.
Went and ordered 1 pound of pulled pork and what was supposed to be 1 pound of shredded BBQ turkey and order of okra and wanted to buy buns. They meat brought home measured on a kitchen food scale in the package and paper each one was 3/4 pound. So from 2 lbs of meat they shorted the order a full half pound plus as this was in their folding containers and paper liner included. Okra never was included and they said they could only sell buns in large packs of either 20 or 24. Had been able to buy smaller packs before and can any other place in town. The shredded turkey was not shredded but 4 peices of cut meat. Quality was not what they used to be either and charged over 46 dollars for a fully shorted order! Seemed staff didn't know what they were doing. They didn't weigh it either they just put two scoops of shredded pork into container. Guess that's why they don't weigh in front of customers as they want to short everyone. If next customer got same they would have saved a full pound of meat! Sad and shorted the side of okra, just guessing but don't think they wanted to have to cook it. Would never go back when there are so many great tasting places around town (Excell market should have been my choice) but went due to closer convenience. Stay clear unless you like being ripped off!
Ordered Doordash from here. They processed the order and took the money but failed to call and let us know they didn’t have ribs, then said they didn’t have pulled pork either! Didn’t offer any compensation via drinks or deserts and we were just forced to take what they had. 80 dollars down the drain. This is my second bad run in, will not be back.
Very disappointed in Dickey's barbecue today. Staff was friendly restaurant with clean however they were out of everything no sodas no tea no baked potatoes and when you asked for blackberry cobbler you get a cookie bar and when you ask for pecan pie you get something that resembles it that it might have been a pecan pie at one time. I will not be darkening their door again for a very long time.
I ordered online through their website, not a different service or anything, for a pick up and the online prices didn't match the store prices, 3-5 dollar difference on each item. The food was decent but cold and dry. Overall we were underwhelmed and out a nice chunk of money.
The pit dip sandwich states it has caramelized onions, cheddar cheese and smokey BBQ. I got no BBQ or onions instead a plain sandwich with 2 slices of semi melted cheese. When I called they said, "yeah we don't have caramelized onions anymore" I asked where the BBQ was, she didn't know even though it clearly says spicy BBQ on the reciept. The baked potato casserole was cold. The girl offers me a partial discount. I decline stating the sandwich was 13.00 I want the sandwich refunded, which she finally did. If the meat had the slightest bit of flavor and I'd have been able to eat it I may have settled for the partial refund. Won't be ordering again.
I got the daily special, Pulled Pork Sandwich Plate, worst BBQ I've ever had, It was very dry and tough to chew, the sandwich bun was also falling apart so i didn't even eat that, only thing good was the sides. could've been better as I've ate at this location lots of times and everything was good
I normally eat here on sundays with my daughters . But after this last visit I won’t be going back. The brisket plate was nothing but pure fat no meat at all they gave me hot sauce instead of barbecue sauce my daughters ribs were dry as if they’d been sitting there all day her Mac & cheese was cold and I only had one spoonful of green beans in my side container . Like I said we eat on Sundays I have no clue what the difference was this past Sunday but it’s enough to make me rate , post and complain about the service and not return

I ordered the Pit Dip Sandwich plate with bacon & onion green beans, Asiago cheese creamed spinach and a lemonade. The sandwich came with no onions, no pickles, just two thick tough pieces of brisket and a little bit of some kind of shredded cheese. I could barely chew the meat because it was so tough. The green beans had no bacon or onion in them. The creamed spinach wasn’t very good either. The Uber delivery driver spilled my whole drink so I can’t comment on the lemonade. I do not recommend this place and will not be returning. It was truly disappointing.
