Cool underground location. Clean and hip looking inside. Food quality is good. This is a cool option for a business casual lunch or dinner. Limited menu for lunch. Service wasn't great, but to be fair they seemed understaffed and/or slow on Monday lunch. A bit pricey, but given downtown location and post pandemic, that isn't surprising these days. Not an authentic Japanese Izakaya, just inspired by the idea. If you've been to them in Japan, this is more of an American hipster version.
Zero beverage options without alcohol except kids drinks. Is the 21st century and many places addressing this but not Two Ten Jack. Will not be back. Obviously lots of effort pit in to making super interesting tasty alcoholic drinks though.
One of my all time favorite eats in Chattanooga. Warm atmosphere, unique menu, the food always tastes fresh.I've never had bad service. All servers have been very friendly and helpful.I strongly recommend trying to takoyaki. My current obsession! A perfect blend of southern and Japanese cuisine. Who knew!
Strangely enough, they are known for ramen and their ramen is the worst ramen I've had in the US to this point. However, their skewers are stellar. The ambience is fantastic. Other food besides ramen was delicious. Why? Wel, I'm so glad you asked...RAMEN: unmitigated disaster... so, things can be picturesque in a pretty bowl but starting w the pic, they put the egg in the ramen spoon. A huge no-no. But as I dove in, it got worse. Instead of a chunky, fat laced piece of pork in my tonkotsu, I had one extremely thin sliced piece of ... I don't know, pork loin? ... floating in my "ramen". The broth? Tasted more like warm milk (and looked like it) than any tonkotsu I've had across the US. Even my home ramen is way better. And, the noodles.... Oh my goodness. Like plopping uncooked spaghetti noodles into a milk bath. Very disappointing.YAKITORI was pretty good actually. I had scallops on a skewer that were cooked to perfection, an avocado that genuinely surprised me as I hadn't seen that take before (scorched them the center filled w a mustard ponzu and wasabi), tuna negori and chicken skewers - all fantastic!!AMBIANCE was great - Hailey was attentive and interesting and the decor is stellar.
We were really excited to have dinner here and ordered the chicken ramen and crab noodles. Both meals were good, but not as good as I was expecting based on the reviews. The portions were pretty small (crab noodles especially) and expensive. The online ordering also works on about a 30 minute delay….we were already back across town and about to eat when a text was sent saying the order was ready.
We dropped on for lunch and were pleasantly surprised. This restaurant was located downstairs in the Warehouse Row area. We ordered the Tori Paitan Shoyu Ramen bowl and the Karaage box. Both were delicious. We had ordered the “small plates” of fried chicken and Brussels sprouts first. Delicious as well, but too small for one person. The pork gyoza are maybe the best I’ve had. Plan to return for dinner soon.
The sushi and ramen were great! Very authentic experience. As a craft beer drinker I was a little disappointed with items on the menu that were no longer available across several attempts to order beers on tap. I settled on a very nice beer from Hutton and Smith that was delicious but would love to have all the options available that were advertised. Great food, great service, and awesome environment. I would highly recommend.
The restaurant is beautiful and has a cool vibe! It’s located downstairs at warehouse row, you can enter from outside or from within the mall. After reading the reviews I gathered the top dishes to try were the Japanese fried chicken and the tonkotsu ramen, and they were delicious! The portion sizes were very small, especially considering cost since it’s on the pricey side but the food was overall good. I would recommend trying those 2 dishes, and the sushi is quite good too.
Had heard good things, but was very disappointed. It was 10+ min before a server came by. The prices for the skewers were way over priced and they were 2 bites at the most. Limited menu. Ordered sushi and had to ask for bowls and wasabi to pour soy into. 3 different rolls all lacked flavor and was not fresh. Asked our server for our check and he brought us water to refill our glasses for the first time. Then, he mixed our checks up with another table. Will not be back. See pic of size of skewer below.
We got there a little before 6 and we had never been, so we didn't know you needed reservations and we're told it would be 7 before they had a table. So be sure you get a reservation. We were taken to a still wet half sticky table, but were not told that the wet tiny qr code in the middle of the table was the menu...15 minutes waiting later the server told us that and took our drink order, I had seen the menu online already so I ordered gyoza... The server brought the drinks then disappeared long enough some other person dropped off the gyoza but with nothing to eat it with. It was 4 small dumplings which makes them $2 a piece and they were okay but not worth that. The server finally came back and got us chopsticks and took our order. My husband ordered a $13 dollar sushi that came on a plate smaller than the app plate and even though loosely wrapped and over priced it tasted good. My son and I ordered the tokotsu ramen. The noodles were too aldante and stuck together in places and they forgot the thin one piece of pork belly that comes in it...we got it and it was burnt around the edges and tasted that way... in-between getting drinks and food we were abandoned by the server and our drinks were empty a while... just was really disappointing based on the ratings and reviews here.
