We are visiting Chattanooga and stopped by this cute restaurant to grab a bite to eat. When the staff told us that the wait was 1.5 hours for a table, we decided to order take-out. Other than one host, the staff was rude to both the children and the adults in our group. When we picked up a menu, one staff member grabbed it out of our hands and scolded us, asking us to leave it on the table. When the take-out finally arrived, they had put the shrimp and chicken for the pastas and salads in separate containers and microwaved them (we could tell because the plastic containers were almost too hot to handle). The bread was very good but the pasta and pizza did not taste fresh. This looked like a nice place to sit down if there were space, but I'm not sure that would outweigh the angry staff and sub-par food.
The pasta was al dente, and the atmosphere was nice, but the food was just ok. We ordered the seafood, dill ravioli, and it was swimming in sauce and incredibly salty. We also ordered the low country linguini which was much better but still too much sauce. The bread was good but made by a local bakery, so I can't give Tony's credit for that. The olive oil parmesan dip wasn't good. It was in a bowl, and they used shredded parmesan, not grated, so you couldn't easily get parmesan on your bread without soaking it in olive oil because it was in a bowl. Lastly, be prepared to wait at least 40 min on a Saturday night. We won't be back.
Called in an order because we had been traveling all day. Picked up and took home. Order was correct but portions were small and that is unusual for Tony's
Portions were huge. Staff was awesome ! loved this place, we will be back. Go early to get a table. We love it.
Tony's was the perfect place to stop on our trip in Chattanooga for lunch. HUGE portions, we really could have split a dish! Delicious and great service. Beautiful atmosphere.
Plenty of vegetarian options here, including "Create Your Pasta" and a Vegetable Lasagna. I opted for the Grilled Vegetable Salad and it was delicious; the tarragon dressing was perfect. Nice setting, good service, a very pleasant meal. We plan to return someday!
Definitely a do over! Visited Tony's for lunch during a Tue. girls trip. Outdoor 2nd floor deck with a wonderful river view in the art district. Amazing build your own pasta entree, wine, & of course bread. Plenty of 2 hr. parking, seating, & so many menu choices. If you like Italian don't miss Tony's. After lunch we strolled around the sculptures near Hunters museum. And the walking bridge was fun too. What a nice afternoon. Total entree + drink averaged $25 ea.
Great for gluten free! My celiac daughter was thrilled with the gluten free menu and I went along and ordered GF to be nice…and wow everything was great! We especially enjoyed the cajun Alfredo with crawfish over GF pasta! Spectacular! Neat atmosphere too. We ate inside but if weather is nice the second floor Al fresco looked lovely! No reservations allowed. Signage practically nonexistent…but quite busy so obviously everyone knows. I thought it was reasonably priced with lots of entrees under $20. GF flatbread was I think $4.50, and they even had a few reasonable GF desserts.
The service was amazing!! Samantha was kind and knowledgeable which was a huge help!! The food matched the service perfectly. It wasn't too pricey but still upscale and delicious. I got a beer, greens salad, low country pasta and then a to-go order of lasagna and still didn't break $50. The portions were decently sized as well. I had a salad, some bread and a portion of my pasta and still had enough for two more portions/meals. They served two different types of bread with olive oil and it was wonderful and warm. I will definitely be going back!!
We had a little bit of a wait but we expected that with Easter weekend. We ordered the bruschetta as an appetizer and it was delicious - fresh and tasty. The bread served before the meal was also amazing. My boyfriend had the chicken Parmesan and I had the Sicilian salad. It was a huge salad and I couldn’t finish it. I don’t typically enjoy Italian food but this was outstanding. Would definitely go again!
