This review is due to terrible customer service. We had four people in our group and arrived 20 minutes before closing. I am currently 8 months pregnant and we were told after ordering and paying for several desserts and drinks that we would need to eat them outside as the dining area is closed. It is currently 98 degrees outside. I then asked if I could at least use their bathroom before we headed outside as I am pregnant and they refused. I was told to go across the street to the Choo Choo if I needed a restroom. I was bringing my in-laws there for the first time to show them a local chocolate shop but we will not be back. We left disappointed in the whole experience.
So good! I bought the milk chocolate peanut butter pretzels for my boyfriend and dark chocolate expresso beans for me. We managed to get all the way home to Alabama before trying them. I also got a mocha frappe, which was small, but very tasty. We were there on a Saturday afternoon and everyone was very friendly. Wish we lived closer!

Cannot recommend this place more- the chocolates are SO delicious. We visit here every time we are in Chattanooga. The staff is patient and friendly.
Wife at home in bed recovering from knee surgery. I stopped here to get a little something to lift her spirits. She likes cinnamon and coconut. The staff suggested the cinnamon coffee cake and I also got two dark chocolate candies with coconut centers. The coffee cake was pretty wonderful (lucky I got a taste for quality control)! The coconut bonbons were good, she said, but the raw coconut left her chewing and chewing at the end. But toasted—they’d be awesome!
Really nice selection of chocolates, desserts, and unique flavors. Their marshmallows, Mayan chocolate cake, and chocolate ginger bark are top notch. Definitely coming here again!
Was a great place! The atmosphere was great and the hospitality was on point. The desserts and sweets themselves were on another level of good. Would definitely come again when we visit :)
Ordered the valentines deluxe package for this weekend to celebrate with my wife. After UPS, delivered my package to the wrong place, Elizabeth did everything she could to ensure that I would get my chocolates. Elizabeth was friendly, empathetic, and driven towards the type of customer service everyone should strive to have in a business. Not only will you get amazing, delicious, and second-to-none chocolates at Hot Chocolatier, but you will get superb service. I am proud to call them a local business.
The Hot Chocolatier is a unique and exciting dessert Cafe. The disappointment was that their dining room was closed. So, after standing in a very long line, viewing all of the fabulous choices, we were not able to sit and enjoy our selections.
Absolutely outstanding in every way. Friendly staff, delicious coffees and hot chocolates, great range of chocolate gifts, very pleasant atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit. I would make a point of visiting this place should I ever return to the Chattanooga area.
