I love this place, that's why I'm giving it five stars.But omg, if the blue plate special of the day is ever fried chicken, BLT salad, black eyed pea salad, and collard greens, DO NOT ORDER IT.The BLT salad was weak and unappetizing. The black eyed pea salad was served cold and had a vinegar base--SO not appealing. And dude, I don't know what was up with these collard greens, but they were horrible. They taste like they were prepared with sugar.Literally everything I've ever had there has been great. But this is one blue plate you definitely need to avoid.
Fine reliable Southern food. Great fried chicken on Tuesdays. Soups are outstanding. Classic desserts. Lots of takeout choices. Hard to go wrong here.

I hate to be harsh but I am always honest in my reviews. It's been a little while since I had the opportunity to eat lunch out. Met a friend here today and I was grossly underwhelmed at how much this place has changed. I understand staffing issues but this is definitely no longer a Meat plus 3 operation. You now order at the counter, fix your own drinks, seat yourself, and have an option of about 5 salads, quiche, and standard diner chicken sandwich or burger. Meanwhile the 5 or so servers are fully stocking the pre-packaged meals up front. Nobody asks you for a refill, nothing, zilch, zero. For this kind of selection and service, I will opt for my own kitchen. At least there will be leftovers. Oh, did I mention you leave a tip at the counter when you order because you pay in advance now? Biggest tip I've paid to have someone bring me my plate and do NOTHING else. Didn't speak, ask if there was anything else needed, revisit, etc. Salad had a few blue cheese crumbles, couple of pecans, and a plate of mixed greens with half a TBSP of salad dressing in a cup. Let's be honest. You are no longer a restaurant. You are a pre-packaged meal service. I'd rebrand as such and save customers the disappointment.

We got quick grab and go sandwiches and salad. These were very fresh, and tastefully prepared. I would definitely stop by here again when in the area.
Was a big let down today. I have eaten here pretty regularly last summer and the food was great so today when I popped in to get something to take back to the hotel, it was just not good. Chicken finger and fries with slaw. The chicken looked and tasted like it was dropped in cold grease and the fries where soaked in grease. Slaw had a bad after taste. Maybe just a bad day in the kitchen but to top it off the lady who brought it even made a face when she checked it. Also the ketchup packs where cover in honey or at least that what I telling myself.
It was awesome! The Spinach, Bacon, Mushroom Quiche is worth trying... It was amazing. Try it with the Artichoke Salad... So yummy! The staff & service was top notch... Even if they were short staffed. Thanks to the ones that showed up to service us... You guys are amazing!

Service was quick, and the food was delicious. I had a salad with a scoop of chicken salad. Other person had a huge chicken salad sandwich. Chicken salad was great. Salad greens were very fresh.
