First time coming here. At first walking in was a bit awkward. We felt like we had walked into the kitchen. When the waitress brought our salads she brought one bread stick. We thought maybe that was because we had ordered garlic knots. But once she brought us our entrees she informed us she had forgotten about our garlic knots and asked if we wanted more bread instead so we agreed to more bread, to which she brought one more bread stick to the table. The food was ABSOLUTELY delicious!! When I ordered my to go order I noticed that the kitchen crew was not wearing gloves and touched food with their bare hands and then wiped their hands on their pants, if I had seen that before we wouldn't have ordered. The waitress was more occupied with answering the phone and practically tossed out plates on the table to get to the phone. Our food was $54 not a bad price for good food but I don't know if we will be back.
I was charged $54.36 for two medium Hawaiian pizzas this weekend. Yes, $54! Absolutely ludicrous. The pizzas were thin and extremely greasy to the point where we didn’t want to eat them. We are done with Portobello’s and that’s a shame. Since we moved to this area several years ago, we have been loyal customers. We have tried everything and loved their pizza, their Italian meals, their strombolis, their cheesesteaks. We supported them during the pandemic and were willing to spend more for their food because we felt it was worth it and important to back a local business. But the quality the past several visits has not been the same and the price just keeps climbing. Now there’s an extra charge for paying with a card?! There’s more affordable options out there.
Decent food but not enough to visit again. Expected better quality for the price. Cheese sticks were good and not greasy, but the marinara sauce had no soul/flavor. Spaghetti noodles were unpleasantly salty. Hopefully it was just a case of over salty boiling water and not a habit of theirs. Meatballs were ok-ish but by taste and texture probably came from a bag. Really reminded me of microwave meal meatballs. Of the 3 meatballs that came with my meal I could only make it through one because my stomach was ahhhh no.Breadstick was great.
The very best food and service. We were a party of 4 and all ordered different entrees. They were all delicious. We don't get here too often but when we do, it is all top-notch. You won't be disappointed.
PERFECT! This restaurant is just perfect.1. The food is ALWAYS made fresh!2. the food is very delicious and not expensive at all3. great customer service and opening hours!I eat here at least once a week for the last 6 months and I always leave happy and satisfied! It's a gem!
I’ve tried probably 90% of ALL pizzeria’s in Chattanooga and I can honestly say Portobello's but s the best I’ve ever tasted! I want to try other dishes which I’m sure are just as amazing but I just love their pizza so much, I can’t seem to order anything else. Keep up the amazing work and don’t change a thing!
Their pizza is wonderful! Treat yourself to their stuffed pizza if you really want a literal pizza pie
Went for the first time last week. We got Stromboli's and they were pretty good. My only issue was how unfriendly and inefficient our waitress was. From what I understand, she may actually be the owner.Nice little spot and other menu items I would like to try but I don't know.
As many who have read my reviews know, I don't ever hold back on my criticisms of a restaurant. However, 2 times I have eaten at Portobello's and try as I did, I simply couldn't find any issues, no mistakes or even a hint of disappointment. I have tried 2 different pizza dishes, and the Chicken piccata. I can without hesitation say that this is now among my personal favorites. A real gem in the restaurant world. Chattanooga has a truly real restaurant that serves real food cooked to perfection.
The best pizza in town! I moved down from Jersey and spent way too long trying to find a decent pizza in the area. Finally found it! Authentic New York pizza!
