Food was average, service was also. My ranking was because of the way the meals was brought out to us. It was a party of 5 a co-worker had to wait about 8 minutes for her food while everyone else was eating. Then after I was half way through my meal I was brought my beans and cheese, rice, sour cream and pico that comes with the shrimp fajitas.
They have a variety of dishes that some other Mexican restaurants don't seem to have. Excellent flavor!Friendly and attentive staff. Lots of food for the money.Easy access with excellent parking.
We went in Sunday after church and they were busy, but we didn't have to wait for a table. None of the staff seemed ruffled by how busy they were; everyone just went about dutifully doing their jobs, which made the atmosphere much more relaxing. The service was great - fast and friendly. The food was absolutely terrific. I had the Molcajete Mexicano and I highly recommend it. This will be our new go-to for Mexican food.
The food was very good. The atmosphere on a Friday evening was very loud. The noise level was not a fault of the restaurant but instead the fault of parents not making their children moderate their volume. There was a lot of families with under the age of 6 children. The children are yelling and running around like it’s a playground. Because of the noise deaf parents, the atmosphere was like Chucky Cheese. Too noisy for me to return on. Friday evening.
Visited here for dinner and service was VERY friendly, food was decent but nothing memorable, prices were fair enough. Atmosphere was nice as well. The batter on the chile relleno wasn't great, but the rest of my order was alright. I might try to visit again for lunch during the week sometime.
Molcajete is absolutely the best Mexican restaurant in Chattanooga! The food is always fresh, very tasty and has plentiful portions. The restaurant is impeccably clean and the prices are fair. The servers are quick, friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. On a personal note I wish more businesses could be like Molcajete. My dad has been a regular at Molcajetes for years. They know him by name and take good care of him. When my mom passed they wouldn't let my dad pay for his meal, they insisted on his meal being on the house because they care about their customers. Recently my dad was diagnosed with cancer. On our last family visit someone on the staff paid for my dad's margarita. These are very good people who serve amazing food who deserve business.
My favorite Mexican restaurant here! Everyone is so friendly, especially the main host! My only complaint is they never give you enough rice and beans with their meals. They give one small scoop and flatten it out on the plate to look like more. In reality it's only a few bites.

Very clean restaurant! Food had always been great and the service was equally as great. Definitely want to bring my friends here soon. One of the best Mexican restaurants in Chattanooga.
Came here on Friday night at 7pm. Seated promptly and then began to order shortly after that. Server was annoyed and frustrated at every additional item I had ordered(2 a la cart items). I’m not picky and our order was not complicated but you’d have though I asked him to cook the food himself. Every item that hit our table was incorrectly prepared and at least one dish wasn’t ever ours( they took it back after 5 minutes, and I suspect to the the correct table, eww). One dish we ordered did not arrive at all. When we asked about it, they asked if we wanted another, just to tell them that we never received it…to make matters worse they inspected the remnants of our empty plates to ensure we were not lying about this missing 2.75 item(tostada). Waiting over twenty minutes for the check after finishing our meal and finally leaving. I wasn’t sure if we being puked, but after I paid, addressed the service issues with the manager and was me with an “Oh sorry bout that, have a good night”, I knew it was real.The taste of the food was good but it’s a no for me. With that kind of service I’ll never step foot in this establishment again
