This place was good. When it was in Eastdale. Now. Since I guess they got a lil more space. The food took a back seat. When they run out of food. They don't even try to meet or exceed your expectations. They just say we're sold out. They should have closed the doors before the pandemic. And it's too dark inside of the restaurant. Don't waste your time here. Point blank period.
My hometown is Chattanooga, I reside in Houston, TX. I will not come to my hometown and not go get me a fried fish dinner at Herman’s Soul-food Restaurant. The food is always good and fresh !!Rodney Billups is the type of owner who always give back to the community. My entire family loves his food as well and have been eating at his restaurant since at least 1997 when he was on Tunnel Blvd. I recommend you give him a try, you want be disappointed. The food is really good, but their sense of time is off. Online says they open at 12pm. You can place a online order for 12pm, but when you get to the restaurant they do not open until 1230pm AND you still have to wait 30mins for the food to be ready. I had to be at work for 1pm and had to cancel the order or be late just to get food that o ordered for 1215pm.
AWFUL PLACE!! AWFUL!! I can never exaggerate enough when expressing how AWFUL this place is. Idk how they are still open. They do not cook food thoroughly. Had 2 fish plates and both raw as can be. Then I had salt and black pepper PACKETS, COOKED inside of my Mac and cheese. These 2 separate encounters. This place is horrible and it be packed on sundays. Lawd have mercy this place is KILLING our people
My to go plate was awesome ..but the ppl who work in front was very rude and I stood outside for 40 mins I was number 2 in line...I stood in line all that time just to support and once I get in the lady who took my order was snappy and the lady who take the money snapped because I didn't here her saying next...not to mention the sign says 12 on Sunday got there at 11:40 I watch the lady who opened up get out her car it was 12:00 she open and locked us out without saying to customers outside it will be a minute she didn't say a word...IT JUST BOIL DOWN TO BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE
Great food but costly. Portions are generous which balances cost. Friendly staff. Excellent for special occasions.
Wait was not long , considering they was very busy. Food was delicious. Would definitely visit this establishment again if in the area.
