My husband and I are new to town and I really wanted to love this place because we had a gyro place that we enjoyed where we used to live.My husband ordered the regular gyro wrap with fries and a drink and I ordered the falafel wrap with pita & hummus, and a drink all to go. The employees were friendly and the food came out in a decent amount of time so that’s not a problem. My husband’s food and the pita & hummus were ok. My biggest issue was the falafel wrap.I’ve ordered this a bunch of times from a bunch of different places and usually the falafel is small golf or ping pong sized balls. Greek Plate makes the falafel, which was seasoned nicely, in big patties. Which is fine. They can do what they want. It’s their restaurant. The issue with the large falafel patties is that when they were put in the pita wrap they got smooshed into a solid bean cylinder putting all the veggies and sauce (which was barely there) in a thin line along the top. So almost every bite of this wrap was dry, plain falafel. It was so dry that I had asked my husband to go get some sauce because we didn’t have any at home and I didn’t want to waste the whole wrap. In some photos online it looked like the food came with a side of sauce. If we were supposed to get that, we didn’t. And both wraps needed it, but especially the falafel. Not sure that we’ll go back because I usually order the falafel wrap at gyro places.

By far one of my favorite places to eat in Chattanooga. They never miss. The food always tastes great and can tell they really care about making sure customers are satisfied. They use fresh ingredients, and the food is made to order. I have never had a bad or unsatisfactory experience. Anytime friends or family come to town, we have to stop here. The Combo plate, and the Gyro sandwich meal are my go-tos. I either get fries or yellow rice as my sides. I am a fry fanatic and love that the give you plenty of fries (rice as well).

succulent. juicy. flavorful. these were the ingredients specifically chosen to create and open greek plate gyros! i’m not sure exactly when they opened up, but i’m so glad they did. we came in at the odd hour of 3:00pm to a full menu of authentic grecian choices. i ordered the falafel salad, the gyro wrap, and dolmas. i wanted to order dessert but i was too full to think thoughts after my meal. great addition to downtown! i seriously wish i worked there just to go there for lunch more often.

Came in today from out of town. Let me tell you, it was amazing. The owner was really friendly or rather just a great guy all around. The food though was just the best. Im not an expert but it was better than anything my town has. As for the tables and wait, it was fast. Great music playing and the whole place was very clean and pleasant. Hope to come back again next time I'm in Chattanooga.

This restaurant popped up on my Uber eats app and the food looked amazing. It did not disappoint! I loved it so much, less than a week later, I took my Aunt and husband to dine in there. They were equally impressed and agreed it is easily one of the best Greek places in town! We will definitely be back time and time again. The service is friendly and fast too! I would definitely recommend the gyro wrap, gyro mixed plate and falafel!

We came from out of town and food was delicious! The falafel was the biggest thing I’ve ever seen! Their hummus and tzatziki were great too! Nice atmosphere, friendly staff, and very pleased with our experience!

The first thing you will notice about Greek Plate Gyros is the soothing ambience with avacado green, brick and reclaimed wood walls. However, it is set up as more fast food/take out with order at the cash register. We both had the Gyro wrap with fries. The fries were steaming hot and crispy with a very fine seasoning. The gyros were stuffed to overflowing with lamb, tomatoes, onion, chopped romaine lettuce and Tazinki sauce served on Flatbread. The meat was very subtly flavored, so it was easily overpowered by the generous portion of chopped onion. For my taste, I would take off about half the onion and ask for a little more sauce. At $12 for a huge wrap, fries and a coke, this is one to visit again and try the grape leaves and other menu items. As a plus, this was in a location on Market Street that actually had close parking and only $1.25.

Best hummus and pita plate I’ve had in a restaurant! Low key environment, friendly staff, and generous portions. I went to the Market Street location, which isn’t in Trip Advisor. Amazing small Greek place!

Reasonably priced food. Great service. We were impressed by how each meal came with the name of our party and the contents of the container written on each take out box. The owner stopped by our table when we were nearly finished with our meal and expressed his sincere gratitude for his customers. Music was at a comfortable volume level...so nice because many places have it too loud for easy conversation.

Our family (2 adults, 3 children) all really enjoyed our lunch at Greek Plate Gyro's yesterday. We had four gyro plates with fries and one falafel salad for only $52.99 plus tip. Servings were generous and we had some leftovers. The owner's son took our order, and he and the employee assisting him did an excellent job, even adjusting our order slightly to save us money. On each food container they neatly printed my name and which meal was inside. Service was friendly, and when we met the owner afterward he emphasized how much he values his customers, especially in these hard times. The atmosphere was bright on a sunny afternoon at 1:00, music was low enough not to be distracting, and the place deserved more customers than the few who were present. If I was super fussy, I would give our experience a 4.7 (the current average here on Google). To get a full 5/5, I'd like a little more tzatziki sauce on the gyros, ketchup in bottles rather than those miserable little packets, and Greek music rather than classic rock. :-)[UPDATE in response to owner: Yes, we talked about how the ketchup packs may be a result of the pandemic. I strongly doubt they offer any real health benefits... But here's hoping we are all free to enjoy ketchup bottles again soon! Cheers to you and your restaurant!]
