They kept hanging up on me because I was not GIVEN THE CORRECT FOOD. They answer the phone hello instead of the restaurant name. Do not order if you don’t want ripped off. This place sucks. The rudeness and hanging up on customers is beyond anything I have ever seen. I want a manager to contact me asap!!!!!!
I love trying new pizza places as this is one of my favorite foods. I have never had Gondliers but had heard of it. To say I was happy with the pizza and antipasti salad is an understatement. I got the Greek pizza and got a free cheese pizza. The crust was outstanding and the flavor even better.
Outstanding place! Service and food quality is top of the line.Pretty sure they got new management and they have done nothing but improve the place!
I normally love this place, but last night ensured I won't be back. I ordered the 2 for 1, spending $32 on pizza that should've cost less than Little Ceasars. First, they gave my order to the wrong person, but said there was nothing wrong with it. When we did get home, the pepperoni pizza may as well have been cheese with a SIDE of pepperoni and the Gondolier Special yielded me soggy dough and no flavor, except from the olives. Just gross. The only plus was the friendly staff.
The food still tastes good and they still have very good pizza. Unfortunately, the prices have gone up, and they are now nickel and diming the public with ridiculously high prices for extra toppings and the quantities of the meals have gone down, substantially, they are even charging for salad dressing when you have a salad with your meal!
I have been coming to this place over 10 years is has alway been good but never this good. I order my usual house special calzone and it was definitely different. It was a lot better then I can ever remember. The flavor and the size was way better then before.
I have never posted my experience good or bad on anything but I refuse to let a business like this respond negatively to a customer like how I was. Here is my recent experience. I ordered 2 pizzas and 2 orders of wings by phone. Once Iarrived at Gondolier business I paid by debit card for all the food. I drovehome and when I got home I realized that my 2 orders of wings(both were$10.50 each) were not correct and they didnt cut either of the pizzas in slices. I have never ordered a pizza and they didnt cut it so I just cut it when I got home.. I then took both orders of wings back toGondolier and it explained to the cashier at the restaurant that my order ofwings were not correct. The cashier went in the back and had aconversation with the cook. The cashier stated the cook stated they wereout of the wings that I ordered(drums/flats). I explained to the cashier itwould have been better if that was explained to me when I ordered and if Icould get my money back on the 2 order of wings that I brought back. Thecashier stated that his manager would go in the system and look up mycard information and return it back on my card. I asked for a return receiptshowing that I returned the food and a receipt showing that I would get mymoney back. The cashier stated he couldn't give me a return receipt andonly the manager could go in and give customers money back without areturn receipt showing evidence that I returned the food. I asked thecashier if he could call his manager to discuss this so I would be sure I'mgetting my money back. He stated he couldn't and his manager was busy. The cashier stated that his manager would be back on Sunday March 20,2022. I returned back to the restaurant the next day and the cashierexplained that he told his manager about my concern and he couldn't tellme anything going forward about my money being returned. I explained tothe cashier this cant be acceptable and I would get the police and others involved
I love the Gondolier chain of restaurants and have eaten at many of their various locations in and around Knoxville, Harrogate, Sweetwater, Lenoir City, and in Halls just to name a few. There are a few things you can always count on at a Gondolier: fresh salads, good pizza, and many choices for pasta. I went this week to the location in Chattanooga and was really disappointed. I should have known better when the sign read, "Gondolier Pizza." I ordered spaghetti with meat sauce and a Ceasar salad. You have to pay when you order at the front (weird) and of course they want a tip before they ever give you your food. The pasta came on a plastic styrofoam plate, silverware was plastic and in a bag, and the salad was some pre-made thing with two packets of Ken's Caesar dressing. Just wow! This is not an example of what the Gondolier chain is capable of. Maybe it's not even part of the chain??? I will not be back, sad to say--but it's a good thing there are so many others to choose from that offer customer service, actual silverware and plates, and an actual salad made fresh with real Caesar dressing. The meat sauce seemed over-cooked, lacked flavor, and was just blah.
I am a cheese LOVER and their's was a cheese lover's dream. Crust was closest to a Detroit style, the toppings were high quality and sauce was light but tasty. Buffalo wings had hot sauce in the batter and were super crispy outside and moist inside. Their raspberry donut cheesecake was a delight and their traditional cheesecake had an amazing flavor and perfect texture. We will definitely be back to try other items from their EXTENSIVE MENU.
My sister was right...the pizza has changed. The staff was nice but the pizza had barely any vegetables. The pizza was very greasy. Thin dough. It honestly didn't have a taste to it. Too much cheese to hide the lack of toppings and taste.. Barely any sauce.. was hot and fresh but definitely not the Gondolier pizza in the past. The prices have also increased by a lot. For $52 I would rather just go to Mellow Mushroom for much better quality. I was wondering why it was so dead on a Friday night. On Fridays that place used to have a line almost outside the door. This place used to have delicious pizza.Unfortunately won't be returning. End of an era.
