This is a very cool place to try with a great atmosphere and an interesting concept. What kills it, is the cost, as the prices for the self-serve drinks are very high. When you walk in, you are explained how things work, by the staff, which allows patrons to self-pour their own drinks (beer, lager, stout, mead, cider, wine, and others). And then you are left to your own devices, although they do have staff available to explain the different drink options available. It sort of works like a self-serve yogurt shop, but instead of charging by the weight, they charge by the ounce. It looks like it would be a great place to go with a large group of people, as they offer several long tables at where groups may socialize. They are also experimenting with the board game concept, which I have seen in some other cities, although they are just getting started. The big detraction, is the price. I tried three or four different drinks, and each ran between $7-$8 to fill up my glass about halfway, or between 6 and 7 ounces. The measuring system is somewhat flawed, as it counts the initial foam from the tap as "ounces", regardless of how much you tilt your glass. This makes it very challenging to sample different beverages, since it is much more affordable to fill your glass with a single drink, instead of trying several. (I learned this lesson the hard way, as my second drink, which was mostly foam, registered at 7 oz., although once settled, was roughly only a quarter of the glass.)It is an interesting concept, and I do think it is a place to try, although I couldn't see myself going there regularly.

Nice tap house price is ok for the quality choices

When you advertise like this (as a taproom) I would expect, at least, 1 gluten-free beer to be available… sadly there was none.Food was good and system, apart from various taps that would occasionally not work and cards that needed re-authorisation, was fine too. Staff helpful and friendly.

This is a great place to have a drink (and eat), relax, hang out with friends and enjoy the evening. Although the concept of using a card to pour myself a drink was new to me, the staff walked me through it, and I actually like it better than waiting for a server to come take my order, especially these days. The selection of drinks was incredible, and you can try a lot of different beers to find the perfect one. We didn't play any, but they had board games to use for free, lots of TVs and even turned one to cartoons to keep the kids entertained. We missed the live music, but I know they have that from time to time. I like having a place to go and chill that is big enough to not feel crowded, even when there are lots of people. Definitely recommend!

First time in Chattanooga, typed in “Kombucha on tap” in google maps, and this came up. Best Monday night spent… ever. It’s so fun trying all the different drinks and there’s board games to play as well. Have fun! Giggly recommend! :)

What an amazing concept. You serve yourself, no wait. Beer when you want it. If you haven't been here I highly recommend this experience. Wonderful assortment of beers sample any one, very cool pay system, wish more places were like this place. I would be a regular.

Okay, I’m REALLY behind in posting this review. My husband and I visited Fountainhead Taproom during a weekend vacation back in October. We LOVED this place! The concept just makes it a lot of fun and easy to try new things. Who wants to spend $5 on a beer only to find out you hate it? At Fountainhead, you can sample any number of their 60 offerings and decide which ones are for you! (I tried 18 of the beverages. My husband stuck to 2 or 3.) The atmosphere was very laid back, and we had constantly had someone checking on us to make sure we were happy. I seriously can’t recommend this place enough, and I wish we had one in Cincinnati!

Great beer selection and overall experience, can't wait to go back!

Everything! Great atmosphere! Friendly staff.

Neat concept with a great selection of drinks. The establishment was smaller than I was expecting, however, and was completely packed at 5:30pm on a Saturday. I was visiting from out of town and planned to spend a couple hours here, but ended up just trying a quick taste of a couple things before leaving, as there were no tables or seats available and it was super loud and busy. Not sure if this is how it is most weeks, but I’d recommend having a backup plan if you’re looking for a lowkey place to chill on a weekend evening.
